How to Fix Pokémon HOME Transfer Errors from Pokémon Bank

Check the HOME Premium Plan and linked accounts, then choose the right transfer route: a timed Moving Key with a 3DS, or an all-at-once move without one.

Start with the account and transfer method: Pokémon HOME needs an active Premium Plan, and the Nintendo Account used with HOME must be linked to the Nintendo Network ID used with Pokémon Bank. If you have a 3DS, move selected boxes with a temporary Moving Key. Without a 3DS, HOME can transfer everything in Bank at once. The Bank service is scheduled to end on February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC, so complete any needed transfer before then.

Check the account, plan, and transfer route first

Pokémon Support requires a Pokémon HOME Premium Plan to connect HOME with Pokémon Bank. The Nintendo Account connected to HOME must be linked to the Nintendo Network ID used with Bank. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required for these account functions. See Pokémon Support’s connection instructions (updated January 30, 2026).

Transfer route What you need to do What moves
3DS available Choose Bank boxes, then use a Moving Key displayed in HOME. Enter it in Bank within three minutes. Only the selected Pokémon.
No 3DS Link the Nintendo Network ID used with Bank to the Nintendo Account used with HOME, then choose the no-3DS route. All Pokémon in Bank at once.

Transfer Pokémon with a 3DS

  1. In Pokémon Bank, select Move Pokémon to Pokémon HOME, choose the boxes to move, and confirm.
  2. In Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch, select Move, then Begin Move, Begin, Ready, and Display to show the Moving Key. In the mobile app, open the menu and select Options, Move Pokémon, Begin move, and Display Moving Key.
  3. Enter the key in Pokémon Bank within three minutes. The key expires after that; request a new one if it does. The code does not use the letters O, I, or Z, so check for a misread character before submitting.

After Bank accepts the key, the selected Pokémon move to HOME and can be deposited into HOME Boxes.

Transfer without a 3DS

This route is for a Bank account whose Nintendo Network ID is linked to the Nintendo Account used with HOME. It transfers all Pokémon in Bank at once, not a selection of boxes; do not continue unless that is what you intend.

Fix error 8807 in the order Pokémon Support recommends

Use this sequence for error 8807 rather than jumping straight to deleting data or reinstalling the app. Pokémon Support’s steps were updated January 30, 2026: Steps to resolve error 8807.

  1. Launch Pokémon HOME on Switch. If prompted, sign in to the Nintendo Account again.
  2. If the error persists—or no sign-in prompt appears—delete Pokémon HOME save data for the affected Switch user, then restart HOME.
  3. On mobile, uninstall and reinstall Pokémon HOME. Then link the same Nintendo Account used previously.
  4. If the issue continues, change the Nintendo Account password and repeat the steps above. After a password change, a new Switch sign-in prompt may take up to 24 hours to appear.

Resolve “This account has already been linked to a different Pokémon HOME”

Pokémon Support recommends reinstalling the mobile app and linking the same Nintendo Account used with Pokémon HOME on Switch. Follow its account-linked error instructions (updated January 30, 2026).

This is not a prompt to try random Nintendo Accounts. Support says that if Premium has been purchased and/or the mobile and Switch versions have been synced, the linked Nintendo Account cannot be changed. Its stated route for using a different Nintendo Account is a new HOME account on a new device; do not assume switching accounts will recover or reconnect the existing HOME account.

When Pokémon HOME is failing on mobile

Use Pokémon Support’s mobile troubleshooting guidance (updated January 30, 2026) if the problem is app access, sign-in, or a code that does not arrive.
