Start by checking Roblox’s live status page, then wait briefly and try joining again. Roblox’s official error-code index does not list Error Code 523, so its exact meaning and a code-specific fix are not officially documented there. Reports from other users associate it with a message that an experience’s status changed and access is no longer available, but that does not establish the cause in every case.
What Roblox Error Code 523 means—and what is not confirmed
Secondary reports pair Error Code 523 with wording such as “The status of the game has changed and you no longer have access. Please try again later.” Those reports are anecdotal; Roblox has not defined Error Code 523 in the official error-code index available here. Do not treat the reported wording as an official Roblox definition or assume it means you were banned.
Roblox’s error-code help index lists other codes, including 524, but not 523. Roblox says users who cannot find their error code or message in its help articles should contact Support.
How to troubleshoot Error Code 523

Check Roblox service status
Open the Roblox Status page and look for an active incident affecting Game Join or other relevant services. If Roblox reports a service issue, wait for it to be resolved before trying again. Status changes over time; at the time reflected in the available status history, all systems were operational, and an October 5, 2026 degraded-performance incident that included Game Join was marked resolved.

Wait briefly, then retry
Roblox’s general advice for trouble joining experiences during service issues is to “wait for a few moments and try again.” This is a sensible first step, not a confirmed Error Code 523 repair. See Roblox’s guidance on outages.

Check whether other experiences work
Try joining another experience. If other experiences work but one does not, the problem may be limited to that experience; if none work, a broader service or connection problem is more plausible. This comparison is a diagnostic suggestion, not an official rule for interpreting code 523.

Contact Roblox Support if it persists
If the error continues and Roblox’s help index still does not cover it, contact Roblox Support. Include the exact error text, the experience you tried to join, your device or platform, and when it happened. If access to a particular experience has changed, Roblox or that experience’s creator may be able to clarify its availability; the code itself does not establish why access changed.
Do not rely on unverified 523 fixes
The available official guidance does not validate VPN changes, firewall exceptions, cache deletion, router replacement, or reinstalling Roblox as fixes for Error Code 523. Avoid making disruptive changes or buying hardware on the assumption that they will restore access. The reported message may refer to an experience’s availability or access state, but the anecdotes do not establish a universal cause.
