If Roblox shows error code 610 when you try to join an experience, read the full error message first. The code alone does not identify one confirmed cause: the message may point to an account session, access requirement, device compatibility, a follow action, or a broader connection problem. Check Roblox Status before changing settings, then follow the steps below that match your message.
What Roblox error 610 means
Roblox’s official help pages provide general connection troubleshooting, but do not define error 610 specifically. A secondary guide, Roblox Den, associates the code with several different messages, including a game-pass requirement, unsupported device, private-server access, following a user, and an unauthenticated user. Treat those mappings as possible clues, not an official diagnosis or a guaranteed fix.
Copy or note the complete wording and whether the problem occurs with one experience or several. That context helps distinguish an access issue from a local connection or service problem.
Seven methods to try, in order
1. Match the full message to the right cause
Do not troubleshoot every possible cause at once. Look for wording about authentication, a game pass, device support, a private server, or following a user. The message-specific explanations below come from Roblox Den’s secondary guidance; Roblox does not confirm these as an official error-code taxonomy.

2. Check whether Roblox is having a service issue
Visit Roblox Status and check Game Join and other relevant systems. Roblox’s support guidance directs players with experience-joining problems to the status page. Status is a live snapshot, so check it when the problem is happening rather than relying on a past report. At the time of the reviewed snapshot, Game Join was operational; that does not establish its current state.
3. Refresh your session if the message mentions authentication
If the text says there is no authenticated user, Roblox Den suggests that your browser session may be logged out or that the client took too long to join. Log out of Roblox, sign back in, and try joining again. This is a secondary, message-specific suggestion, not a confirmed fix for every 610 error.

4. Check experience access and device compatibility
- Game-pass requirement: If the message says a pass is required, check the experience’s access requirements and whether the account has the required pass.
- Unsupported device: Try a device supported by the experience. The available guidance does not establish a workaround for an unsupported device.
- Private server: Confirm that your account has permission to join and review the experience’s privacy or access options.
These interpretations are listed by Roblox Den and are not an official Roblox diagnosis for code 610.
5. Retry the action once if you cannot follow a user
For the message “Can’t follow user: HTTP 503,” Roblox Den recommends closing Roblox and attempting the follow action again instead of selecting Retry. If the issue continues, wait and try later; the guide suggests a service problem may be involved. This advice is secondary, and HTTP 503 does not by itself prove that Roblox is experiencing a platform-wide outage.

6. Check your connection, browser, and network settings
Roblox’s general connection troubleshooting guide identifies slow or inconsistent internet, firewalls, browser security settings or extensions, and experience-side problems as possible causes of connection trouble.
- Try an updated supported browser, or a different supported browser, if you join through a browser.
- If possible, compare Wi-Fi with another connection to see whether the problem is specific to your network.
- Temporarily disable ad-blocking extensions to check whether one is interfering.
- Check firewall and router settings only if you control them. Roblox documents UDP ports 49152–65535 for its connections; if you are on a managed network, ask its administrator rather than changing settings you do not control.
7. Refresh Roblox software, then contact support
Roblox’s general connection guide includes reinstalling Roblox as a troubleshooting step. Roblox Den additionally suggests clearing the DNS cache and rebooting before reinstalling. These steps are not specific, officially confirmed remedies for error 610; try the lower-effort steps first and reinstall only if the problem persists.

If none of the relevant steps resolves the issue, use Roblox Support. Include your username, device, the full error message, whether one or multiple experiences are affected, and what you have already tried. Roblox’s Contact Us guidance also points players with experience-joining problems to Roblox Status.
