If Roblox will not open or finish loading on a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, start with the reversible fixes: force-stop and reopen the app, restart the device, and install available updates. Then clear Roblox’s cache. Save clearing app data or reinstalling for later, since those steps can reset app state or require you to sign in again.
Try these fixes in order
-
Force-stop Roblox and open it again
Open Settings > Apps > Roblox, tap Force stop, then launch Roblox again. The exact menu labels can differ by Galaxy model and software version. Roblox lists closing and reopening the app as an initial troubleshooting step. Roblox’s Android troubleshooting guide has its general recommendations.
-
Restart your Galaxy device
Turn the phone or tablet off, wait about 30 seconds, then turn it back on and try Roblox. A restart is another early step recommended by Roblox.
-
Check for app and system updates
Update Roblox through the store you used to install it. Also check for available Galaxy software updates and a Google Play system update. Samsung notes that update options and paths depend on the device; its app troubleshooting guide and guide to app installation and update problems explain Samsung’s general checks.

Clear Roblox’s cache
Go to Settings > Apps > Roblox > Storage > Clear cache, then try opening the app. Menu names may vary. Clearing cache is different from clearing data and is the lower-impact option. Samsung notes that steps vary by software version and app in its Galaxy cache and data instructions.
-
Clear app data only if Roblox still fails
In the same Roblox storage screen, choose Clear data if available. Samsung says this resets the app and removes its stored data and personal settings. You may need to sign in again, so confirm you can access your Roblox account before proceeding. Roblox also includes clearing app data among its Android troubleshooting suggestions.

Reinstall Roblox
If the earlier steps do not help, uninstall Roblox and install it again from the official app store. Reinstallation is a Roblox troubleshooting recommendation and one of Samsung’s general remedies for apps that crash or freeze. Be prepared to sign in again after reinstalling.
Check compatibility and connection errors
Confirm the device meets Roblox’s published minimum
Roblox lists Android OS 8.0 or later and support for OpenGL ES 3.0 as its mobile requirements. Meeting those minimums does not guarantee every device or newer operating-system release will be supported immediately. See Roblox’s mobile system requirements for its published details.

If you see Error Code 266, test the connection
Roblox describes Error Code 266 as a connection timeout. Check that the internet connection is working, then try another reliable network if one is available. If Roblox works on the alternate network, that points toward a connection issue rather than an app-installation problem. Roblox’s Error Code 266 article identifies connectivity, including low bandwidth or internet speed, as a possible cause.
