If Starsand Island stutters or runs poorly on PC, first compare your system with the game’s published requirements, then check whether the problem matches one of the specific issues addressed in recent updates. The available official notes identify a reduction in stuttering during Daily Commissions refreshes, but they do not promise a general fix for every FPS drop or hitch.

Steam lists these specifications for Starsand Island. They are requirements, not guaranteed frame-rate targets, and a mismatch does not by itself identify the cause of a particular performance problem.

Compare your CPU, GPU, installed RAM, Windows version, DirectX support, and free storage with the table. Being below a listed minimum is a reason to investigate compatibility; meeting the recommended requirements does not establish that your PC is free of bottlenecks. Identify what kind of performance problem you have
“Poor performance” can mean different things. Note what you see before changing settings or contacting support:

- Low FPS: the game appears consistently slow, rather than pausing briefly.
- Stuttering: short interruptions or hitches break up otherwise smoother play.
- Input delay: actions seem to register late; this is not the same as a measured drop in FPS.
- Activity-linked pauses: the hitch repeatedly occurs during a particular event, such as Daily Commissions refreshing.
Also note whether the issue is continuous or intermittent, which activity triggers it, and your game version. These details help distinguish a general performance complaint from a symptom that matches a specific update note.

Seed Sparkle Lab’s September 17, 2026 notes for version 1.09.7160 say the developers “Reduced stuttering when Daily Commissions refresh.” That wording refers to this named situation; it does not establish a fix for unrelated stutters or consistently low FPS.

Delayed character interactions
The September 23, 2026 notes for version 1.09.7731 say the developers “Improved the responsiveness of character interactions and reduced input delays.” This is evidence of a responsiveness change, not a measured frame-rate increase or a general FPS fix.
Check that the game is updated through your platform’s normal update process, then see whether the symptom you recorded matches either note. The official announcements describe targeted changes and do not say that updating will resolve every player’s performance issue. Read the official version announcements.

Consider a RAM upgrade only if your system is below the listed figure
The published recommendation is 16 GB of RAM. If your PC has less, checking whether a compatible memory upgrade is possible may be relevant to bringing the system closer to the recommended specification. Confirm your computer supports the chosen memory before buying. The requirements do not show that RAM is causing your stutter, and they do not guarantee that adding memory will improve performance.
What not to treat as a confirmed fix
The cited official information does not provide Starsand Island-specific graphics-setting values, driver instructions, launch options, shader-cache steps, or a universal FPS fix. A setting or hardware change may be worth investigating for an individual PC, but it should not be presented as a verified solution for this game on the evidence available here.
