If a Street Fighter 6 DLC character is missing, do not buy the pass again first. Verify that the signed-in PlayStation or Steam account owns a pass containing that character, confirm that the add-on is installed, check PlayStation disc and account regions when relevant, then refresh licenses or escalate with proof of purchase. A CAPCOM ID link alone is not documented as a paid-DLC entitlement.
Use this order to find the cause
A missing character usually falls into one of five categories: the purchase is on another account, the pass does not include the character, the add-on is owned but not installed, a PlayStation disc and account region do not match, or the character is not yet available in the pass’s release schedule. Work through the checks in this order so you do not pay for the same entitlement twice.

- Confirm the purchaser account and the exact pass name in your transaction history or platform library.
- Check that the pass includes the character you are trying to use and that the separate base game is installed.
- Inspect the platform’s add-on or DLC management screen and install the entitlement if necessary.
- On PlayStation, check disc and account country/region compatibility, then restore licenses if the add-on still does not appear.
- Restart the game and look in the in-game location where the content is delivered; some add-ons require a particular location or checkpoint.
- If the platform shows a valid, installed entitlement but the character remains locked, contact platform or Capcom support with purchase evidence and a recording or screenshot.
1. Confirm that you actually own the character
Check the purchasing account
Open the transaction history or game library for the account that paid for or redeemed the DLC. A console may have several user profiles, and a PC can have more than one store account. The store page on the account you are currently using is not enough if another account completed the purchase.

Match the character to the pass contents
A pass is an entitlement bundle, not a universal unlock for every fighter in the game. Confirm that the missing fighter is listed in the contents of the specific pass you bought. Capcom describes its Character Passes as including four additional characters, Outfit 1 Colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets. Ultimate Passes include the Character Pass content plus Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets. Year 1 and Year 2 passes also include stages.
Those extras do not change which four characters belong to a pass. If the fighter belongs to a different year, buying or installing the wrong pass will not unlock that fighter. A pass can therefore be correctly installed while the character you want remains locked simply because it is not part of that bundle.
Make sure the base game is installed
Capcom states that a separate copy of the Street Fighter 6 base game is required to use a Character Pass or Ultimate Pass. A pass purchase by itself is not a standalone game license. Check that the base game is installed on the same platform family and that you can launch it from the account you are using.
If you own only an add-on and cannot launch the base game, resolve that separate game-license issue first. Installing a pass cannot substitute for the required game copy, and a receipt for downloadable content does not establish ownership of the main game.
2. Check the account distinction: platform account versus CAPCOM ID
The platform account controls the store purchase and its DLC license. That is the account whose transaction history and library you must inspect first.
A CAPCOM ID is used for online-related account features. The cited CAPCOM documentation does not say that linking a CAPCOM ID grants a paid character pass or transfers a store purchase between platform accounts. Therefore, linking or relinking a CAPCOM ID is not a substitute for checking the purchaser account, and it should not be your first paid-DLC fix.
If the DLC was purchased on a different PlayStation user or Steam account, sign in to that purchaser account and verify the entitlement there. Platform sharing rules can affect which users can launch downloadable content, but the purchase itself remains attached to the account that bought or redeemed it. Do not assume that seeing the base game on one profile proves that the DLC belongs to that same profile.
Write down which account made the purchase before contacting support. This prevents a common loop in which support checks the currently active profile while the receipt belongs to another profile.

3. PlayStation: find and install the add-on
Open the game’s add-on list
- Open Game Library.
- Choose Your collection.
- Select the main Street Fighter 6 game.
- Open Add-Ons.
- Find the purchased pass or character add-on and check whether it is downloaded.
A store receipt establishes the purchase, but it does not by itself prove that the add-on is installed on the console. If the item is listed as owned but is not downloaded, select the download or install option shown by the console, wait for it to finish, and then launch the game again.
Check the add-on entry after the download completes rather than relying only on a notification. A queued, paused, or incomplete download can leave the store showing ownership while the game still has no usable content. If several add-ons are listed, match the exact pass or character name from the receipt instead of installing an unrelated item.
Check where the content appears in the game
Some downloadable content does not appear in the character-select screen immediately after installation. PlayStation’s troubleshooting guidance notes that content can become available only at a particular in-game location or after a checkpoint. Check the pass description for the expected delivery point, enter the relevant mode or menu, and progress far enough to reach that point before concluding that the character is absent.

Restart, then restore licenses
After the add-on finishes downloading, close Street Fighter 6 completely and restart the console. If the character is still missing, use PlayStation’s Restore Licenses function for the purchasing account. PlayStation identifies license restoration as a useful step when a game or add-on cannot be located. Start the game again after the license refresh and check the add-on list and character roster.
Do not delete the base game as a first response. Reinstalling a large game will not correct an account mismatch, an incorrect pass, or a region incompatibility, and it can add unnecessary download time. Restore the license and verify the account before attempting a full reinstall.
4. PlayStation disc and account regions
Region compatibility matters when the base game is a physical PlayStation disc. Verify that the disc’s licensed region matches the country or region set on the PlayStation account that bought the DLC. PlayStation warns that a mismatch can make add-ons incompatible with the disc copy.
This can produce a confusing result: the transaction history may show a successful pass purchase, while the game installed from the disc still does not recognize the character. Before buying another pass, identify the disc’s licensed region from its packaging or product information and compare it with the account region. If they differ, contact PlayStation support with the disc and purchase details; changing account regions is not a general repair for an existing license.

5. Steam: inspect the DLC state
Use the game’s Properties page
- Open the Steam client and go to your Library.
- Open the Street Fighter 6 entry’s Properties.
- Select the DLC section.
- Check that the purchased pass or character add-on is listed as owned and marked for installation.
Steam also exposes DLC information from the game’s library page. Use that view to compare the account’s owned content with the pass name shown on the receipt. If the add-on is owned but not installed, enable or install it, let Steam finish updating, and relaunch the game.
Steam’s ownership display and installation state answer different questions. “Owned” means the account has the entitlement; it does not necessarily mean the downloadable files are present and enabled for the current installation. Check both indicators before assuming the game has failed to recognize a valid purchase.
Rule out the wrong Steam account
If the DLC section does not show the purchase, check the Steam account that completed the transaction. A family member’s account, a second Windows login, or a redeemed code may have placed the entitlement elsewhere. The account that can launch the base game is not necessarily the account that owns the pass.

The official checks documented here cover Steam’s ownership and DLC controls. They do not establish Xbox or Epic Games click paths specific to Street Fighter 6; avoid applying a PlayStation or Steam menu sequence to those platforms. On another platform, use its own purchase history and add-on management screens, then contact that platform’s support if the entitlement is present but unavailable.
6. Make sure the character has released
Character passes unlock their listed fighters as those fighters are released; they do not necessarily make every future fighter selectable on day one. Capcom’s Year 4 information says the character unlock sequence begins with characters released sequentially. The US Year 4 listing gives these release windows:

These are release windows rather than exact dates and can change. The Capcom Town Store listing dated August 3, 2026 states that the Year 4 sequence begins with characters released in order. Check the current official pass listing for the latest status before treating a not-yet-released fighter as a failed installation. As of October 17, 2026, a pass can legitimately show a later Year 4 character as unavailable if that character’s listed window has not arrived.
A released character should still be checked against ownership and installation. Release timing explains why a future fighter is missing; it does not explain why a released fighter is absent from an account that shows a completed, installed entitlement.
7. Identify the symptom before choosing a fix

Across both platforms, use the same evidence sequence: purchaser account, exact pass contents, base-game ownership, installed add-on, release status, and in-game delivery location. The menu names differ, but a receipt without an installed entitlement is incomplete proof, just as an installed file without ownership is not a valid license.

9. Escalate only after ownership and installation are proven
Contact the relevant platform support team or Capcom support when all of the following are true:
- The transaction history shows the correct pass or character add-on.
- The pass includes the character and the character has reached its release window.
- The separate Street Fighter 6 base game is installed.
- The add-on is shown as installed in the platform’s DLC management screen.
- You have restarted the game and, on PlayStation, restored licenses.
- A PlayStation disc and account have compatible regions, if a disc is involved.
Include the platform, the account’s purchase details, the exact add-on name, and a screenshot or video showing the missing or locked character. PlayStation specifically asks for purchase details and evidence when escalating a missing add-on issue. Showing the receipt together with the installed-DLC screen lets support distinguish an entitlement problem from an in-game display or delivery problem.
Do not remove evidence before contacting support. Keep the transaction record, the add-on status screen, and the in-game error or locked-character screen available. If support determines that the entitlement is attached to a different account, provide that account’s purchase information rather than purchasing a replacement pass.

Only buy a pass after confirming that you do not own the pass containing the desired fighter. Capcom’s Character Pass and Ultimate Pass listings are digital storefront purchases, and the base game is required separately. A physical copy of the base game, a controller, or additional storage does not repair a missing DLC license.
If the platform already shows the correct pass as purchased and installed, another purchase will not fix a missing installation, account mismatch, region conflict, unreleased character, or stale license. Resolve that underlying condition first. If the desired fighter is not included in the pass you own, then compare the current official listing and purchase the pass that actually names that fighter—but only after checking the account and release status.
There is no troubleshooting benefit to buying both a Character Pass and an Ultimate Pass for the same year merely to force a refresh. Confirm what the Ultimate Pass adds—such as additional costumes and Drive Tickets—before paying for it, and do not treat those extras as evidence that it contains characters from every other year.
Final verification checklist
- Is the signed-in account the one that paid for or redeemed the DLC?
- Does the exact pass name list the missing character?
- Is the separate base game installed and playable on that platform?
- Does PlayStation Add-Ons or Steam’s DLC section show the entitlement as installed?
- Has the character’s release window arrived?
- Did you check the in-game location or checkpoint where the content becomes available?
- On PlayStation, did you check disc/account region compatibility and restore licenses?
- Can you provide the receipt and a screenshot or video if support is needed?
Following these checks separates an unowned character from an owned-but-uninstalled add-on and from a platform license problem, without risking a duplicate purchase.

Does linking my CAPCOM ID unlock paid DLC characters?
No documented entitlement rule says that CAPCOM ID linking grants or transfers a paid character pass. Check the PlayStation or Steam account that purchased the DLC instead.
Why does my receipt show the pass, but the character is not installed?
A receipt proves ownership, not installation. Open PlayStation’s Add-Ons list or Steam’s DLC section, find the exact pass, and download or enable it before relaunching the game.
Can a PlayStation disc region prevent my DLC from working?
Yes. PlayStation warns that a disc’s licensed region and the purchasing account’s country or region must be compatible. Compare those regions before buying another pass.
Do Character Passes unlock every Street Fighter 6 fighter?
