If SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION runs in slow motion or speeds up on PC, Konami’s recommended fix is to turn VSYNC off in the game and set your Windows display to 60 Hz. Delayed controls during Steam Remote Play Together are a separate issue: first compare with local multiplayer, then check the stream, controller assignments, and display/input chain.
Identify what kind of lag you are seeing

“Lag” is not one diagnosis. Slow or fast gameplay points first to timing; a delay confined to Remote Play points toward streaming or remote input; stutter without a speed change calls for performance and frame-pacing checks.
Apply Konami’s timing fix
Konami’s official instructions pair two changes: disable the game’s VSync setting and set the Windows monitor refresh rate to 60 Hz. The settings are most relevant when gameplay is too fast, too slow, or otherwise out of time.
- Update the game in Steam, then launch SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION.
- At the game-selection screen, press the controller’s Start button to open Options.
- Open Display Settings and set VSYNC to OFF.
- Close the game. In Windows, open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.
- Under the refresh-rate control for the monitor, choose 60 Hz.
- Relaunch the game and test the same mode and title again.
These are the developer-published steps for fast-forward or slow-motion behavior, not a guaranteed remedy for network delay. If gameplay speed returns to normal but remote controls still arrive late, continue with the Remote Play checks below. If VSync is already off and the display is already at 60 Hz, avoid repeatedly toggling graphics settings and isolate the input path instead. Konami’s Steam news and update announcements also report a fix for a bug that could cause VSync to turn itself off at launch on monitors using refresh rates other than 60 Hz.

Update the game before testing
- Restart Steam.
- Open Library, right-click SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION, and choose Properties → Updates.
- Allow any pending update to install, then restart the game.
Konami’s February 2026 update announcements address VSync behavior on non-60-Hz monitors and audio-level issues. They do not say that every form of multiplayer or Remote Play latency was fixed. Separate local multiplayer problems from Remote Play delay
The PC store listing describes local multiplayer and shared/split-screen PvP and co-op. Konami announced Steam Remote Play Together support on February 13, 2026; its announcement specifies controller input only. - Play a match with two controllers connected to the host PC.
- If local play is responsive, start a Remote Play Together session and compare.
- If only Remote Play is delayed, focus on network, streaming, and guest controller assignment.
- If local play is delayed too, check the refresh rate, controllers, display, and PC performance.
Remote Play streams the host’s game session, so the network path and stream can add delay even when the game itself is running at a stable speed. That possibility does not establish that Remote Play is the cause in every case.
Reduce the Remote Play load
- Use Ethernet for the host PC where possible; the guest should use Ethernet or a strong 5-GHz/6-GHz Wi-Fi connection if available.
- Pause downloads and cloud sync, and stop video streaming or screen recording on both ends while testing.
- Start with one remote guest and reduce Remote Play streaming quality if the stream is unstable.
- Use controllers for remote players; Konami’s announcement specifies controller-only input support.
- Compare against a local match before changing routers or buying hardware.
Correct controller assignment conflicts
If both players control one character, the symptom may be a merged or incorrect player assignment rather than slow input. A Steam Community discussion describes separate controller assignment as a workaround for one Remote Play setup; it does not establish a universal two-controller requirement. - Connect the controllers before launching the game.
- Open Steam’s controller layout or the Remote Play player panel and check that each participant occupies a different player slot.
- Disconnect unused controllers, virtual gamepads, racing wheels, and remapping tools during the test.
- If slots remain merged, restart Steam and reconnect the intended devices.
- Test a local match with one keyboard player and one controller player if that configuration is available.
Check the controller and display input chain
These comparisons help locate delay outside the game; they are diagnostic tests, not confirmed game fixes.
- Compare a wired controller with a Bluetooth controller.
- On a television, enable Game Mode and disable motion smoothing, interpolation, noise reduction, and similar post-processing.
- Test the PC directly connected to the display rather than routed through a receiver or capture device.
- Try the display’s native resolution and, if available, a second monitor.
Investigate stutter and frame pacing
If characters move at normal speed but the picture hitches, use a clean-launch test before assuming the game is poorly optimized.

- Close browsers, launchers, recording software, RGB utilities, and performance overlays.
- Temporarily disable Steam Overlay and overlays from Discord, Xbox Game Bar, GeForce Experience, Radeon software, or MSI Afterburner.
- Check Windows Task Manager during a match for CPU, GPU, memory, or disk usage spikes.
- On a laptop, confirm the game is using the intended GPU.
- If the issue began after a Windows or graphics-driver update, check for a newer driver.
- Verify the installation in Steam: Library → right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- Restart the PC after changing refresh-rate, driver, or controller settings.
Find out whether the problem is limited to one mode or game
The collection contains seven games: five Super Bomberman titles plus Bomberman and Bomberman II, according to Konami’s collection description. Compare one case at a time: local versus Remote Play, one included title versus another, keyboard versus controller, wired versus Bluetooth, or a match versus menus and single-player. Change only one variable between tests so the result points to a useful cause.

- Which of the seven games is affected, and whether the issue appears in menus, single-player, or only multiplayer.
- Whether the test was local or through Remote Play Together.
- The display refresh rate and the game’s VSYNC setting.
- Controller type, connection method, and player-slot assignment.
- Whether audio is also delayed and whether the issue is slow motion, fast motion, stutter, or delayed input.
- Whether the game had pending Steam updates when tested.
