If games are missing from your Epic Games Launcher Library, first check the account you’re signed into and reset the Library filters—especially the Installed filter. Then check whether the Library is hidden, refresh the view, and clear the Launcher’s webcache if it still looks wrong. A missing title can also reflect a refund, gift, temporary access, revoked code, or operating-system incompatibility; reinstalling the Launcher usually won’t fix those entitlement issues.
Start with the symptom you see
- The Library or Store section is missing: Check whether Hide Game Library is enabled.
- The Library opens but looks empty: Check your account and filters, then refresh and clear the cache.
- One or two games are missing: Check the account’s transaction history and the game’s entitlement and platform availability.
- A game appears but cannot be installed or launched: Check whether it supports your operating system; visibility, installation, and launch are different issues.
- Games appear that you don’t recognize: Check the signed-in account and whether the titles came from a promotion, gift, or temporary build.
Epic’s missing-games guidance treats these as different causes, so identify the symptom before changing local files.
Check Epic’s service status
Before troubleshooting your device, check Epic Games Public Status. The page reports services including Epic Games Store login, browsing, downloading and installation, and purchasing and refunding. If a relevant service is degraded, wait for it to recover and try the Library again. A green status page does not rule out a regional, account-specific, or recently resolved problem.
Reset the Library filters and refresh
- Open Library in the Launcher.
- Select Filters in the upper-right.
- Uncheck Installed so the Library can show games that are owned or claimed but not installed on this device.
- Select Reset to clear other active filters, such as genre, features, type, or platform.
- Select the refresh icon next to the Library heading.
Epic documents these controls in its missing-games troubleshooting steps. The Installed filter is easy to miss: it narrows the Library to titles already installed, rather than showing all games on the account.

Turn off “Hide Game Library”
If the Library heading or Store section is absent—not simply empty—open the Launcher’s Settings and disable Hide Game Library. Epic says this setting hides the Library and other Epic Games Store elements from the Launcher. It changes what the interface displays; it does not delete purchased games or remove account entitlements. If the Library is visible, check filters before assuming this setting is the cause.
Verify the Epic account that owns the game
- Check the email address associated with the account currently signed in.
- Review the account’s Transactions or Purchases history for the game.
- If you normally sign in through Google, Facebook, a console, or another linked service, sign out and use the same sign-in method you originally used.
Games belong to the Epic account that purchased or claimed them. If you have more than one account—perhaps from different email addresses or social sign-ins—the current account can show an empty Library even though another account has the game. If the game is absent from transaction history, that alone does not establish what happened: it may have been claimed on another account, received as a gift, accessed temporarily, or never successfully redeemed. Epic’s account and purchase guidance covers these checks.

Restart the Launcher and clear its webcache
Quit the Launcher completely and reopen it first. If the Library still displays incorrectly, Epic recommends clearing locally stored Launcher web data. This may resolve display or Launcher-state issues; it does not restore a game that the account does not own. The Launcher rebuilds the cache after restarting, and you may need to sign in again while the Library repopulates.
Windows
- Exit the Epic Games Launcher. If it is still running in the system tray, right-click its icon and choose Exit.
- Press Windows key + R, enter
%localappdata%, and press Enter. - Open
EpicGamesLauncherigSaved. - Delete any of these folders that are present:
webcache,webcache_4147, orwebcache_4430. Only one or two may exist. - Relaunch the Epic Games Launcher.
Epic’s cache instructions list the location as %localappdata%EpicGamesLauncherSaved. See its Windows and macOS cache-clearing guide.

macOS
- Quit the Epic Games Launcher.
- In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder.
- Enter
~/Library/Caches/com.epicgames.EpicGamesLauncher. - Move the
webcachefolder to the Trash, then empty the Trash. - Relaunch the Launcher.
Advanced Windows step: rename the Saved folder
If ordinary cache clearing did not help—and the Library is clearly in an incorrect state—Epic’s troubleshooting guidance describes renaming the Launcher’s Saved folder. This resets more local Launcher state than deleting webcache files. Rename the folder instead of deleting it so you have a backup to restore if the change does not help.
- Exit the Launcher completely.
- Press Windows key + R, enter
%localappdata%, and press Enter. - Open
Epic Games Launcher. - Rename
SavedtoSaved.bk. - Restart the Launcher and check the Library.
If this makes no difference, exit the Launcher and restore the original folder name. The steps are documented in Epic’s missing and unrecognized games troubleshooting article.

Check whether the game is still available to this account
Refunded purchase
Epic says a refunded game is removed from the account’s downloadable Library. Check the transaction history and refund status before treating its disappearance as a Launcher fault. See Epic’s missing-games guidance.
Gift purchase
A transaction can show that a game was Gifted to another player. The purchaser should not expect that gifted copy to remain as their own downloadable entitlement. Check the transaction details to confirm who received it.

Beta, trial, demo, or press build
Open betas, press builds, demos, and other limited-time versions can disappear when their access period ends. A temporary build is not the same as a permanent retail purchase. Likewise, claiming a game during a free promotion can create a lasting entitlement, but only on the account that claimed it; a free trial or beta may be temporary. Epic describes these distinctions in its guidance on missing and unrecognized games.
Revoked retail code
Epic says a retail code may be removed if it was reported as fraudulent. If you activated a code bought from a retailer, contact that retailer about the code rather than repeatedly reinstalling the Launcher. Epic’s missing-games article covers this case.
Operating-system or platform incompatibility
A game may be owned but unavailable to download or launch on the operating system you’re using. Check the specific title’s platform requirements: Epic purchases are not automatically available on every operating system. An absent listing, an unavailable install option, and an installed game that will not launch may have different causes. Epic discusses OS support in its missing-games troubleshooting guidance.
When to contact Epic Games Support
If the account’s transaction or redemption evidence shows you own the game, but it remains absent after checking filters, refreshing, and clearing the cache, contact Epic Games Support. Include the Epic account email, game title, purchase or redemption date, transaction ID or receipt, and a screenshot of the Library and its filters. Also note your operating system and what happened after the cache reset. For a retail code issue, include the retailer and purchase details. Do not post a redemption code publicly.

Quick Recap
Fixes to avoid trying first
- Don’t immediately reinstall the Launcher. Epic’s general troubleshooting guidance lists reinstalling among advanced steps and warns that the process removes installed titles. It cannot restore an entitlement tied to another account, a refund, temporary access, or a revoked code.
- Don’t delete the entire Epic Games folder. Use the specific cache steps above, or rename the
Savedfolder to keep a rollback option. - Don’t buy the game again before checking the account and transaction history. A missing Library listing does not by itself prove that ownership was lost.
- Don’t assume a missing beta or trial was a permanent purchase. Confirm what access the original offer provided.
