What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Roblox has no single “camera glitch” switch: the cause may be a camera mode, stuck touch input, lag, or an experience-specific camera. First check whether it happens in one experience or several. Then try the least disruptive fix for the symptom before clearing data or reinstalling.
Quick diagnosis: what is the camera doing?
| Symptom | Likely cause | Try first |
|---|---|---|
| The camera will not rotate when you drag. | Stuck touch input, an app state problem, or a control conflict in the experience. | Lift your fingers, open and close the Roblox menu, then try one slow drag in an empty area. |
| The camera constantly follows your avatar. | Camera Mode is set to Follow, or the experience controls the camera. | Open Settings and choose Classic, if the option is available. |
| The view zooms or moves when you use another control. | Your drag may overlap the movement stick, attack, or sprint control. | Restart the experience and test camera movement with one finger at a time. |
| The camera fails only after firing, sprinting, or holding a button. | A touch-input conflict or experience-specific control issue. | Test without holding another control; note the exact button combination. |
| The camera is jerky or delayed, but still responds. | Low frame rate, graphics load, heat, or connection instability. | Lower graphics, close demanding background apps, and try stable Wi-Fi. |
| It happens in one game but not others. | The experience may lock the camera or use custom camera scripts. | Test another experience; contact the affected experience’s developer if it persists. |
| Roblox asks to use the phone’s camera. | This is likely the optional avatar-animation feature, not the gameplay viewpoint. | Check whether the experience supports that feature and whether your device is compatible. |
First, check whether one experience or all of Roblox is affected
Join at least two unrelated experiences and try the same camera movement. If only one experience has the problem, its developer may have locked the camera or added custom camera behavior. Roblox’s camera setting cannot necessarily override those choices. If several experiences are affected, continue with the app and device checks below.
If the issue began after an app or operating-system update, note the versions before troubleshooting further. A timing coincidence alone does not establish that the update caused it.
Set the in-experience camera mode
- Join the affected experience and tap the Roblox logo or menu button in the upper-left corner.
- Open Settings and find Camera Mode.
- Choose Classic for manual camera control, or Follow if you want the view to turn with your avatar.
- Close the menu. If the camera does not respond to the change, leave the experience and rejoin.
Roblox documents Classic and Follow as the general camera modes, but says switching depends on whether the experience developer has locked the camera. Menu placement can vary by app version, device, and experience. Roblox’s in-experience Settings and Help guide also covers mobile gestures.

Clear a stuck touch drag
- Remove every finger from the screen for a moment.
- Tap an empty part of the game view, then open and close the Roblox menu once.
- Try one slow, single-finger drag away from the movement stick and other buttons.
- Test again while standing still, then while walking. If the problem appears only while firing or sprinting, record that combination.
- If the camera remains frozen, leave and rejoin the experience.
This is a practical input reset, not a Roblox-documented universal camera-reset command. A developer-forum report from April 2026 described dropped camera drag input while continuously firing and said a triggering change was being rolled back; restarting the app was suggested for that incident. It is evidence of one reported failure mode, not proof that all camera problems share that cause. Read the incident report.
Force-close Roblox and restart your device
iPhone or iPad
Open the app switcher, swipe Roblox away to close it, and reopen it. On devices without a Home button, swipe up from the bottom and pause to open the app switcher; on devices with a Home button, double-click the button. Roblox lists force-closing and rebooting among its iOS troubleshooting steps. Roblox’s iOS technical-issues guide has the platform-specific guidance.
Android phone or tablet
Dismiss Roblox from the recent-apps screen, or open Settings → Apps → Roblox → Force stop, then reopen it. The exact labels and path vary by Android version and device maker. If that does not help, restart the phone or tablet. Roblox recommends force-stopping and rebooting as Android troubleshooting steps. See Roblox’s Android technical- and purchasing-issues guide.

A restart can clear a temporary input or app state, but it does not establish or permanently fix the underlying cause.
Update Roblox and the operating system
- Open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, search for Roblox, and install an available update.
- Check your device’s system settings for an iOS, iPadOS, Android, or Fire OS update.
- After updates finish, reopen Roblox and test the affected experience again.
Roblox recommends keeping the app and operating system current. Its support guidance does not establish a version number that should be treated as a permanent fix.
Check performance and compatibility
A camera that moves but stutters or responds late may be a rendering or connection problem rather than broken touch input. Close demanding background apps, including streaming and screen-recording apps, reduce Roblox graphics quality if the experience allows it, and test on stable Wi-Fi. Heat and a heavy graphics load can also make a device feel less responsive.

- Amazon Fire tablets: Roblox lists supported minimum models including Fire 7 (ninth generation), Fire HD 8 (eighth generation), Fire HD 10 (ninth generation), and Fire Max 11 (13th generation).
- Connection: Roblox recommends an internet connection of 4–8 Mb/s. This is guidance, not a guarantee that a connection will be stable or that camera input itself is working.
See the current Roblox mobile system requirements for full details.
Use Android’s clear-data option only after simpler fixes
- Open Settings, then Apps or Applications.
- Select Roblox, then Storage or the equivalent.
- Choose Clear data or Clear storage, then reopen Roblox and sign in.
Roblox recommends clearing app data for some Android problems. This can remove locally stored app data and sign you out; make sure you know your login or can recover the account first. It does not delete your Roblox account or cloud-saved inventory. Menu wording varies by manufacturer. Roblox’s Android guide describes the troubleshooting step.

On iPhone or iPad, delete Roblox and reinstall it from the App Store. On Android, uninstall Roblox and reinstall it from Google Play. Sign in again and retest. Reinstalling is more disruptive than restarting or updating, and it is not guaranteed to solve an experience-specific camera problem. Roblox includes reinstalling in its iOS and Android troubleshooting guidance.

Check Roblox service status
Visit the Roblox status page and look at the Mobile App component. A service problem is more plausible if many experiences fail, friends report the same issue, or login and joining are also affected. An operational status does not rule out a local app problem or a defect in one experience.
Know which camera feature is involved
The gameplay camera controls your viewpoint inside an experience. Roblox’s optional device-camera/avatar-animation feature uses the phone or tablet’s physical camera to animate an avatar. That feature requires support from the experience and may be disabled on Android devices with 3 GB of RAM or less. This limitation concerns avatar animation, not the ordinary in-game viewpoint camera. Roblox explains avatar animation and camera support.
Special cases: computers and unsupported app setups
Touchscreen laptop or Chromebook
If Roblox displays mobile-style controls on a laptop or touchscreen Chromebook, first confirm whether you are using the Android app or a desktop client. Community reports describe input-detection problems on some touchscreen computers, but they do not establish a universal fix. Do not use registry edits, unofficial clients, or exploit tools to change input behavior.

Rooted, jailbroken, modified, or emulated devices
Roblox says it does not support rooted Android devices, jailbroken iOS devices, emulators, or modified versions of the app. Do not install unofficial Roblox clients as a camera fix; Roblox warns that modified apps can put account information at risk and may lead to account action. See its anti-cheat messages guidance.
Contact the right support channel
If the failure is limited to one experience, use that experience’s support or bug-reporting channel. For a problem across multiple experiences that survives the basic checks, contact Roblox Support with enough detail to reproduce it:
- Your Roblox username and phone or tablet model.
- Your iOS, iPadOS, Android, or Fire OS version, plus the Roblox app version if available.
- The experience name and link, and whether other experiences are affected.
- Exact steps that trigger the problem, including whether it starts immediately or after a particular action.
- Any error message and which steps—such as changing Camera Mode, restarting, or reinstalling—changed the behavior.
- A screen recording if it is safe to share and does not expose private information.
Roblox’s iOS troubleshooting guidance requests device details, error messages, and reproduction steps when contacting support about continuing mobile problems.
