If Ubisoft rejects your number with “This phone number does not respect Ubisoft security standards,” first check the country code and number for errors. If they are correct, stop retrying rapidly, wait, and try again later. If you have another number available, you can test it; if the problem continues, contact Ubisoft Support with the details below. None of these steps is guaranteed to clear the security check.
What the error may mean
The message does not identify one specific cause. Ubisoft Support representatives have listed several possibilities: an incorrect number or regional prefix, a number flagged as suspicious, a number already linked to another Ubisoft account, or a number removed from another account within the last 30 days. These are possibilities cited in Ubisoft Support forum guidance, not a diagnosis of your particular number. Ubisoft Support forum guidance
A Ubisoft Support response reproduced in 2025 also said that repeated attempts within a short period may delay a successful addition. Avoid rapidly submitting the same number again and again. The response did not specify a guaranteed waiting period. Ubisoft Support response reproduced in BBB records
Try these steps in order
- Check the country or regional prefix. Re-enter the number carefully and confirm that the selected prefix matches the number’s country. An incorrect prefix is one possible cause identified by Ubisoft Support. Ubisoft Support forum guidance
- Pause before retrying. If the warning remains, stop submitting the number repeatedly in a short time. Wait, then try again later. Ubisoft Support has suggested this approach but has not provided a guaranteed interval. Ubisoft Support response reproduced in BBB records
- Try a different number, if you have one. Support guidance has suggested this as an option, but it is not a guaranteed fix. A 2022 forum response also mentioned trying a SIM from a different brand; treat that only as an optional experiment, not as proof that changing SIMs, carriers, or devices will solve the problem. Do not buy a new phone or service on the assumption that it will work. Ubisoft Support forum guidance
- Contact Ubisoft Support if the issue persists. Use Ubisoft’s current support channel; contact options may vary. Include the numbers you tried, your mobile device model or models, and your mobile service provider, as requested in Ubisoft Support forum guidance. Ubisoft Support forum guidance
What support can—and cannot—do
Do not assume a support agent can approve the number manually. Ubisoft Support representatives have said they cannot override the security check or manually add a rejected number. In a Rainbow Six Siege Steam support forum reply on April 3, 2023, representative Ubi-Galaxy wrote: “as mentioned, the security check is not done by Ubisoft so we can’t override that check.” That statement describes what the representative said at that time; it does not establish who operates the check today. The available support statements do not establish a guaranteed appeal or escalation that will clear a rejection. Ubisoft Support forum guidance

Will changing my phone, SIM, or carrier fix it?
No reliable hardware or service change is established as a fix. Trying another number may be practical if one is available, and the 2022 forum guidance mentioned a different-brand SIM as an experiment, but neither is evidence that a new phone, SIM, or carrier will reliably pass the check. The support statements also do not identify the check’s current operator.
