1. Start “Zelda’s Golden Horse” at Snowfield Stable
- Visit the Lucky Clover Gazette near Rito Village and speak with Traysi to begin the Potential Princess Sightings storyline.
- Travel to Snowfield Stable in Hebra and speak with Penn and Harlow. This triggers the “Zelda’s Golden Horse” side adventure. Snowfield Stable is around coordinates -1634, 2576, 0233 according to GameSpot and -1644, 2579, 0233 according to Game8; treat these as approximate map references, not exact required waypoints. 2. Find the horse in North Tabantha Snowfield
From Snowfield Stable, head north into North Tabantha Snowfield. GameSpot places the horse at approximately -1836, 3385, 0236. It is reported near ruins and a Frost Gleeok, so watch the enemy as you approach and choose a safe route. The walkthroughs describe finding and returning the horse; they do not establish that defeating the Frost Gleeok is required. (GameSpot; Game8)
3. Prepare for the cold, then tame the horse
North Tabantha Snowfield is freezing. Equip cold-resistant clothing or eat food that grants cold resistance before leaving the stable. Nintendo’s general gameplay guidance notes that meals can help Link withstand environmental conditions and restore stamina; the walkthroughs do not establish a fixed stamina requirement for taming this horse. Approach the horse carefully, calm it, and mount it. Once you have control, ride south back to Snowfield Stable and speak with the stable characters to finish the side adventure. The Frost Gleeok is a nearby hazard, not a stated quest objective. (GameSpot; Game8)

4. Claim the horse and check the rewards
The golden horse is the main reward. Game8 also lists a Royal Bridle, Royal Saddle, Energizing Elixir, and 100 rupees, while other walkthroughs describe the rewards less specifically. Because reward summaries differ, check your own quest completion and inventory rather than relying on the rupee figure as guaranteed. (Game8; GameSpot)
Afterward, horse customization options can be equipped by speaking with a stable hand; this is a general stable feature, not a unique ability of Zelda’s golden horse. (Nintendo)
