Start by identifying which Titanfall 2 VR project you installed: TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin and CircuitLord’s VR Mod Installer use different installation paths and instructions. For TinyBlkDog’s project, verify the Northstar launch, OpenXR runtime, and plugin files first; then adjust the in-game Resolution setting if performance is poor. Persistent freezes and tracking problems do not have a confirmed universal fix, so collect details about the symptom and setup rather than assuming a cause.
Identify your Titanfall 2 VR project first
There are at least two distinct projects in circulation, and their installation instructions are not interchangeable.

Check the repository or installer you actually used before changing files, copying commands, or applying settings. CircuitLord’s installer README describes its tools as community projects that are not affiliated with or endorsed by the game developers or publishers.
Check the launch path and runtime before troubleshooting symptoms
If you installed TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin
- Confirm that Titanfall 2 launches through Northstar, rather than starting the game through an unrelated shortcut or profile.
- Confirm that the OpenXR runtime required by your setup is selected.
- Check that the plugin’s DLL and INI are in the Northstar plugins directory, following the project’s current installation instructions.
The project documentation describes Virtual Desktop’s VDXR as its test environment; that is not a universal requirement for every headset or setup. Do not switch runtimes solely because another user’s configuration differs from yours.

If you installed CircuitLord’s installer
Use its own Launch in VR flow and runtime instructions. Its separate TF2VR profile is not the same installation path as manually placing TinyBlkDog’s plugin in Northstar’s plugins directory.
Improve poor frame rate or image quality
For TinyBlkDog’s project, begin with the in-headset Resolution setting. The project’s published default is 75% in its v0.1.1 documentation, and its README explains that the mod does not measure a player’s GPU capacity. Change the value in the in-headset settings panel; the change takes effect after you close the panel.

- If frame rate is poor, lower Resolution and check whether performance improves.
- If the image looks soft and frame rate remains stable, raise Resolution gradually and check again.
- Record the Resolution value when reporting a performance problem.
The README’s practical guidance is: “Lower it if the frame rate is poor; raise it if the image is soft and the frame rate is fine.” The project also describes alternate-frame stereo and occasional frame spikes, so a brief hitch alone does not establish that the GPU is underpowered.
Respond to freezes without assuming a cause
TinyBlkDog’s known-issues notes document lockups but do not establish a reliable trigger or a confirmed fix. If the game stops responding, closing it through Task Manager may be necessary; progress since the last checkpoint can be lost.

The project notes suggest that some stalls may involve the streaming link, but explicitly present this as a hypothesis. If you use wireless PC VR, test one change at a time and note the result:
- Try a wired connection, if your headset setup supports it.
- Return to wireless and lower the streaming bitrate.
- Test a different codec if your streaming software offers one.
These are diagnostic experiments, not guaranteed repairs. The known-issues page mentions stalls every 20–40 seconds in one specific report; that interval is not a general rate for all users.

Diagnose tracking problems by describing the symptom
TinyBlkDog’s project lists six-degree-of-freedom head tracking and an adjustable neck model. Its documentation says recentering is handled by the headset. The available issue notes do not establish a general cause for tracking drift; in at least one described observation, head movement and tracking drift were not measured separately.
Before attributing the problem to defective hardware, note whether the symptom is a gradual position shift, an abrupt recenter, or a mismatch between the in-game view and headset movement. Record the headset and active runtime, and say when it happens—for example, at launch, during a particular mission, or after a freeze. This information helps distinguish a reproducible mod issue from a setup-specific symptom without presuming either explanation.

Prepare a useful issue report
For TinyBlkDog’s project, the documentation asks reporters to include the following details:
- Mod version or build.
- Headset, OpenXR runtime, and GPU.
- Mission and activity where the issue occurs.
- Reproduction steps, if known.
- The first approximately 30 lines of
titanfall2vr.log, located at%LOCALAPPDATA%titanfall2vr.
That log location is specific to TinyBlkDog’s project; do not assume it applies to CircuitLord’s installer or another mod. For either project, identify the exact installer or plugin version and describe the symptom before changing several variables at once.
Stay within the mod’s stated use
TinyBlkDog’s documentation describes the mod as single-player and warns: “Do not use this on official servers.” Follow the project’s stated limits rather than testing it in official multiplayer.
