To get a Firefly Burner in ARC Raiders, destroy a Firefly and loot its wreckage. Fireflies can appear on any map, but there is no confirmed fixed spawn point; Hydroponic Dome Complex and the swamp on Dam Battlegrounds are reported places to look, not guaranteed spawns.
Where to find a Firefly
Fireflies are flying ARC machines that can join Hornet and Wasp patrols. They do not have a confirmed fixed location. PC Gamer reports encountering them on every map, with better luck around Hydroponic Dome Complex and the swamp on Dam Battlegrounds. Treat those as search leads rather than reliable spawn coordinates. PC Gamer’s Firefly Burner guide describes its reported encounters.
Destructoid also reports that Fireflies may appear on any map and suggests Matriarch or Harvester events as possible opportunities to encounter smaller ARC enemies. Those events are not a guaranteed way to find a Firefly. Destructoid’s guide provides that event advice.
How to defeat a Firefly and get the Burner
- Look for a flying ARC machine. Fireflies share a broad silhouette with Hornets, but have a distinct shape and fuel tank.
- Keep your distance. The Firefly attacks with close-range fire, which can damage your armor quickly.
- Aim for its rotor fans. PC Gamer recommends targeting the rear rotors or removing armor from the front fans. Ferro, Anvil, and Seeker Grenades are among the suggested options; choose what you have available and can use accurately. The guides do not establish a universal shot count or controlled weapon comparison. PC Gamer’s combat tips and Destructoid’s advice cover the encounter.
- After the Firefly is destroyed, search its wreckage and collect the Firefly Burner. The item is salvaged from the wreckage rather than reported as ordinary container loot; PC Gamer says it appears with almost every Firefly kill.
What the Firefly Burner is used for
The community-maintained ARC Raiders Wiki’s Firefly Burner page classifies it as a rare recyclable item and lists it for the Test Case quest, Expedition 3 Stage 3, and a Trailblazer crafting recipe requiring the appropriate blueprint and Explosives Station 3. The page also lists recycling yields of ARC Alloy and Crude Explosives. These requirements and quantities can change with game updates, so check the current quest, Expedition, and crafting screens before deciding how many to keep.
