To get the cheapest house described in Dragon’s Dogma 2, complete Mildred’s A Place to Call Home request in Vernworth, stay in her Common Quarter home for one in-game week, then buy it from her for 20,000 gold. Owning it gives you free rest access and storage.
How to buy Mildred’s house
- Go to Vernworth. Mildred can be found on the street just south of the Stardrop Inn, near the entrance to the slums. One walkthrough places her slightly southeast of the inn. If she is not there, pass some in-game time and check again. PowerPyx’s quest walkthrough and Gamer Guides’ guide describe the location.
- Accept her request. Speak with Mildred and agree to look after her nearby house while she is away. The quest is called A Place to Call Home.
- Wait one in-game week at the house. Sleep there to pass time. A guide reports that seven to eight sleeps can be enough, but the stated requirement is a week of in-game time, not a fixed number of sleep interactions.
- Talk to Mildred when she returns. She offers to sell you the house for 20,000 gold. If you cannot afford it or decline, the guide says you can speak to her again later.
Where to find Mildred
Look on the street south of the Stardrop Inn in Vernworth’s Common Quarter, around the approach to the slums. The guides describe her as just south or southeast of the inn. If she has not appeared, try advancing in-game time before returning to the area.
What owning the house gives you
Mildred’s house lets you rest without paying an inn and gives you access to storage, where you can store and withdraw items. It is a place to rest inside Vernworth; outdoor camps and paid inns remain other options.
How Mildred’s house compares with the Noble Quarter home

The price for Mildred’s house is reported by PowerPyx and Gamer Guides; Gamer Guides also lists the Noble Quarter home at 200,000 gold. The sources do not establish a gameplay advantage that justifies the higher price.
