Epic prohibits cheats, including cheat software and hardware, and says even having cheat tools present on a device used to access Epic products may lead to account action. Rather than seek an aimbot download or installation guide, understand the penalties and what to do if you believe Epic has sanctioned your account by mistake.
Why an aimbot is prohibited in Fortnite
An aimbot is a cheat because it automates or assists aiming to gain an unfair advantage. Epic’s Terms of Service prohibit using or encouraging the use of cheats, including “cheat software, tools, and hardware.” The terms also prohibit having cheat software, tools, or hardware present on a device used to access Epic products, as well as developing or distributing cheats.
Epic says it may suspend or terminate an account if it finds evidence of cheating. Its rules also warn that merely having cheats present on a device may result in suspension or termination. That means the risk is not limited to activating an aimbot during a match.
What happens if you use an aimbot?
Epic Games Support announced a stricter cheating policy in April 2025. Under that policy, the first cheating offense brings a one-year matchmaking ban, and a second offense results in a lifetime ban. During a first-offense matchmaking ban, players can still log in and use text or voice chat, but cannot enter Epic- or creator-made experiences or spectate. See Epic’s Fortnite cheating penalties guidance for the policy.

Can third-party software get you banned?
Epic says Fortnite and Epic Games do not officially support third-party software and that players use it at their own risk. It also says it cannot determine or disclose whether a specific third-party program may lead to a ban. So an application being described as a “trainer,” “overlay,” or “aim assist” does not establish that it is safe or permitted. Check Epic’s third-party software guidance rather than assuming a particular program is allowed.
