Dragon Scale evolves Seadra into Kingdra in Pokémon GO. You need one Dragon Scale and 100 Horsea Candy; to use them, open Seadra’s summary and tap Evolve when the requirements are met. Pokémon GO support lists several general ways to obtain Evolution items, but does not promise Dragon Scale from a particular source or publish its drop rate.
What Dragon Scale does
Dragon Scale is an Evolution item. Pokémon GO’s Help Center explains that some Pokémon need both an Evolution item and Candy to evolve. In this case, Dragon Scale is used to evolve Seadra into Kingdra.

Current Pokémon GO evolution references list the cost as one Dragon Scale and 100 Horsea Candy. Check Seadra’s summary in the game to see the displayed Candy requirement before evolving.
How to get Dragon Scale
Niantic says Evolution items can come from several gameplay channels, including PokéStops, Trainer battles, and raids. That is general guidance for Evolution items; it does not guarantee a Dragon Scale from any one of those activities.

Specialist item references also describe PokéStop or Gym spins, research, and event rewards as possible Evolution-item sources. Reward pools can change, so check the live in-game reward details and current event information rather than relying on an old claim about a particular task.

How to use Dragon Scale on Seadra
- Make sure you have a Seadra, one Dragon Scale, and 100 Horsea Candy.
- From Map View, open the Main Menu and tap Pokémon.
- Select Seadra to open its summary. Check the displayed Candy requirement and confirm the Dragon Scale requirement is met.
- Tap Evolve. Seadra will evolve into Kingdra.
