The official way to play Clash Royale on Windows 10 is through Google Play Games on PC. Install Google Play Games, sign in with a personal Google Account, search for Clash Royale, and choose Install or Play on PC. Your computer must run Windows 10 version 2004 or later and meet Google’s hardware and virtualization requirements.
The official Windows 10 version of Clash Royale
Supercell officially supports Clash Royale on Windows through Google Play Games on PC. This is the Android version adapted for PC, with mouse controls, optimized graphics, larger-screen play, and synchronization with the mobile version.

You do not need to download an APK or install a third-party Android emulator. Avoid unofficial “Clash Royale for Windows” downloads, which may be modified, outdated, bundled with unwanted software, or designed to steal account credentials.

Google lists these minimum requirements for Google Play Games on PC:

To check your Windows version, press Windows key + R, enter winver, and press Enter. If the result is older than version 2004, update Windows before installing Google Play Games.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee perfect performance on every computer. Google’s recommended specifications include a gaming-class GPU such as an Nvidia GeForce MX450 and eight logical CPU cores, but these are recommendations rather than additional minimum requirements.

- On your Windows 10 computer, open Google’s Google Play Games download page.
- Select Download.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Sign in with a personal Google Account.
The installation may take several minutes. Google Play Games may ask you to enable Windows Hypervisor Platform. Accept the prompt if you want to use the official PC client.

You may also need to enable CPU virtualization in your computer’s BIOS or UEFI. Depending on the manufacturer, the setting can be called Intel Virtualization Technology, Intel VT-x, AMD-V, SVM Mode, or CPU Virtualization. The menu path differs between Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, and custom PCs, so do not assume that one BIOS procedure applies to every machine.
Restart Windows after enabling virtualization or Windows Hypervisor Platform. Google’s installation guide covers setup and virtualization requirements.
Download and launch Clash Royale
- Open Google Play Games on PC.
- Search for Clash Royale.
- Choose the listing published by Supercell.
- Select Install or Play on PC.
- Launch the game after installation.
The official Clash Royale Google Play listing identifies Supercell as the developer and supports PC play. The game is free to download and play, but it includes optional in-app purchases and random items. An internet connection is required.

Restore your mobile account safely
Before playing, confirm that the PC version shows the expected player name, arena, cards, trophies, and other progress. Progress synchronization depends on using the correct Google Account or the Supercell ID linked to your existing account.

For the safest setup, open Clash Royale on your phone first:
- Open Settings in the game.
- Confirm whether the account is connected to Supercell ID.
- Record the correct Supercell ID email or account details.
- On PC, sign in with the matching Google Account and, when prompted, the matching Supercell ID.

If Clash Royale starts from the beginning
Do not delete the mobile game or continue playing the new account immediately. Close the PC game, check which Google Account is active in Google Play Games, then open the game settings and switch to the correct Supercell ID. Common causes include using the wrong Google Account, choosing the wrong Supercell ID, or never linking the mobile account to the sign-in method being used.

What the PC version supports
Supercell advertises mouse controls, optimized graphics, high-performance PC hardware support, larger-screen play, streaming-friendly play, and synchronization between PC and mobile.
Google Play Games has added control features over time, including a Zoom control and keyboard remapping for supported games. Do not assume that every Clash Royale action can be freely rebound; the controls available to you depend on the current client and what the game exposes.

Compatibility labels
Google Play Games may label a game as:
- Optimized: designed for the best PC experience.
- Playable: tested by Google and found to run stably at 30 fps or higher with mouse and/or keyboard support.
- Untested: not tested by Google, though it may work.
- Unsupported: known technical problems may cause crashes, sign-in failures, or poor performance.
- Not available: unavailable for the PC or your specific computer.
Google says compatibility testing is not continuous, so a label may not reflect every hardware configuration or the newest game update. Check the badge beside Clash Royale if your experience differs from the general requirements.
Hypervisor conflicts with other emulators
Windows Hypervisor Platform can conflict with some third-party Android emulators. Google provides instructions for turning it off through Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off. However, disabling it can stop Google Play Games from working until you turn it back on. Use third-party emulators only as unverified alternatives, not as the official Clash Royale Windows method.

For graphics problems, consult Google’s GPU and driver guidance. If installation still fails, Google recommends sending installer feedback with system information and the tag #gpginstall.
Is Google Play Games better than an emulator?
For Windows 10, Google Play Games on PC is the preferred official route. It is distributed by Google, supported by Supercell for Clash Royale, and avoids downloading an APK from an unknown site. The trade-offs are the hardware requirements, virtualization requirement, regional availability, and possible conflicts with other virtualization software.
Third-party emulators may work in some configurations, but their current compatibility, controls, security, and support status vary. They should not be presented as the official Windows release.
