Reaching the Volcanic Depths
Insider Gaming’s guide directs players through the Forgotten Kingdom and Ruined Caves. Follow the route to a passage marked with a DANGER sign, clear the two Basalt Veins, then descend into the Volcanic Depths. Treat those directions as guide information rather than a guarantee that the live route is unchanged.
What pickaxe do you need?
Gamezebo reports that Volcanic Rocks require at least 100 Mining Power, while Insider Gaming describes the requirement as 100 base damage. Because the guides use different terms, check the live game’s requirement before committing to a pickaxe upgrade. Insider Gaming identifies the Lightite Pickaxe as the first pickaxe that meets its stated threshold.

Tool eligibility and luck are separate: reaching the reported mining threshold lets you mine the node, while luck-related options are reported as ways to affect the chance of a rare result. Gamezebo’s Demonite guide and Insider Gaming are secondary guides, not official confirmation of current mechanics.
How long can Demonite farming take?
GameWith, whose page was last updated January 12, 2026, reports odds of 1 in 3,666 for Demonite. Gamezebo reports the same figure, though its opened page does not show a publication date. These are guide-published odds, not a verified live-game rate.

A 1-in-3,666 chance does not mean the ore is guaranteed on the 3,666th attempt. Each eligible rock can fail to produce Demonite, and a player may get a drop sooner or later than that figure suggests. The guides do not establish a reliable farming duration.
Can luck boosts improve the odds?
Insider Gaming lists luck potions, the Dedicated Player skill, Luck runes, luck events, and Luck Totems as possible ways to boost luck. The guide does not establish their current availability or how much any of them changes Demonite odds, so treat them as options to check in-game—not as a promised multiplier or shortcut.

Node tips and checking ore types
GameWith advises that damaged mineable nodes can reform with different contents. Its suggested approach is to inspect the ore and stop hitting the node until it becomes whole again if you want to try for a different result. The same guide says the in-game Index can list mineable node types for an ore you have already mined: press T, then choose Index. Controls and node behavior may vary by platform or game update.

Demonite can be used as a forging material for weapons or armor, according to GameWith. It is also needed for an optional Demonite Key quest: Gamezebo says to bring three Demonite to Skal in the Volcanic Depths to receive the key, which opens the door to the Demonic Pickaxe. You do not need to complete that quest before mining Demonite.
