Techland announced that Dying Light: The Beast would be available at no extra charge to owners of Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition. That is the specific qualifying condition—not ownership of just any edition of Dying Light 2.
Who qualifies for Dying Light: The Beast at no extra charge?
In its August 20, 2024 announcement, Techland said: “Dying Light: The Beast will be available for no extra charge for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.” The announcement introduced The Beast as a standalone adventure after discussing it in the context of plans for DLC2. Does buying Ultimate Edition now guarantee access?
Techland’s 2024 statement establishes what it announced for Ultimate Edition owners; it does not establish whether a purchase made today still grants The Beast. The reviewed announcement also does not spell out current platform, region, account, or transfer rules. Check Techland’s current terms or the relevant platform’s listing before buying or assuming an entitlement.

What is the Restored Land Edition upgrade?
In a separate announcement on March 26, 2026, Techland said that owners of Dying Light: The Beast Standard Edition would automatically receive a free upgrade to Restored Land Edition. This is an edition upgrade for Standard Edition owners, not the original condition for receiving The Beast at no extra charge through ownership of Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition.
