You can play Fortnite on a compatible Samsung tablet by installing it from Google Play or the official Epic Games Store for Android. If the tablet does not meet Fortnite’s hardware requirements, cloud gaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, or Amazon Luna may work instead. Samsung branding alone does not guarantee compatibility: check the tablet’s Android version, processor, memory, and GPU before troubleshooting an unavailable download.
Check whether your Samsung tablet can run Fortnite
Galaxy Tab S, Tab S FE, Tab A, Tab Active, and older models do not all have the same hardware. Fortnite’s requirements—not just the tablet’s brand or Android version—determine whether native installation is possible. Epic also notes that a device can be unsupported even when it appears to meet the broad specifications.

These are Epic’s published Android requirements; meeting them does not guarantee that every tablet model will be accepted. See Epic’s Fortnite Android system requirements.
Find your tablet’s specifications
- Open Settings → About tablet to find the exact model and Android version.
- Look under Settings → Battery and device care → Memory, or consult the device specifications, to check RAM.
- Use the exact model number to find Samsung’s specifications for its processor and graphics hardware.
- Check whether Fortnite can be installed from Google Play or the Epic Games Store. Store compatibility checks are useful, but an unavailable listing may mean the device is unsupported.
The Epic Games Store itself has a lower threshold—Android 8 (SDK 26) or later, with Android 14 (SDK 34) or later recommended—but that is the store’s requirement, not Fortnite’s. Installing the store does not make an otherwise incompatible tablet able to run the game. Epic’s Android store page lists its requirements.

Install Fortnite from Google Play
Google Play is the simplest route when it offers Fortnite for your tablet. Epic lists Google Play as an official Android installation method alongside its own store. The Galaxy Store is not established as a required or current route in Epic’s Samsung installation guidance.
- Open the Google Play Store on the tablet.
- Search for Fortnite and check that the publisher is Epic Games, Inc.
- Tap Install if the listing is available.
- Open Fortnite, sign in to your existing Epic Games account, and let the game download its additional files.
- Keep the tablet on Wi-Fi and connected to power during the initial installation and updates.
If Google Play says Fortnite is incompatible or does not show it, do not jump to a third-party APK. Epic says that a missing listing or unavailable install button may indicate the device is unsupported. Check the tablet against the requirements above and, if appropriate, try Epic’s official store. Install Fortnite through the Epic Games Store
Use Epic’s official Android distribution app if you prefer Epic’s store or Google Play does not offer the game and your tablet appears to meet Fortnite’s requirements. The official download page is store.epicgames.com/mobile/android. Older guides may call this the Epic Games app, launcher, or installer; use the current store from Epic’s site rather than an old download or third-party APK.
- On the tablet, open a mobile browser and visit Epic’s Android download page.
- Follow Epic’s instructions to download and install the Epic Games Store.
- If Android blocks the installer, allow installations from the browser or file source you used, as described in the next section.
- Open the Epic Games Store, select Fortnite, and install it.
- After installation, return to the security settings and revoke the temporary installation permission if you do not need it for other trusted apps.
Epic’s installation instructions are available at Epic Games support. The Epic Games Store app is about 25 MB according to its Android page; Fortnite’s full download and future updates are separate and vary, so do not treat the store app size as the space needed for the game.

Fix Samsung security blocks safely
Samsung’s Auto Blocker can interfere with installing apps outside Google Play. Epic specifically flags Auto Blocker on Samsung devices running One UI 6.1.1. Menu names and locations can differ by model, One UI version, carrier, and region, so use Settings search rather than relying on one fixed menu path.
- First confirm that the installer came from an official Epic domain.
- Open Settings and search for Auto Blocker. If it is enabled, turn it off temporarily or use the relevant option to permit the official installation.
- If Android still blocks the installer, search Settings for Install unknown apps and allow the browser or file manager you used to download it.
- Retry the Epic Games Store installation, then install Fortnite from inside the store.
- Return to the same setting and turn Auto Blocker back on or revoke the app-install permission if the tablet allows Fortnite to keep working and updating.
Depending on the tablet, the control may be under security, privacy, or installation permissions. Do not leave broad permission to install apps from unknown sources enabled permanently.

Sign in to the Epic account you already use
When Fortnite opens, sign in with the Epic Games account linked to your PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Switch, or other mobile device. Epic supports existing accounts and cross-platform progression; creating a second account can separate your progress and purchases from the account you intended to use. If a sign-in screen offers several methods, choose the one associated with your existing Epic account. Enable two-factor authentication, especially for a child’s account or one with purchased cosmetics. V-Bucks handling can depend on account and platform purchasing rules, so do not assume every balance or purchase synchronizes identically across platforms. - Useful when: the tablet fails native hardware requirements, has limited storage, or you want to try the game without a large download.
- Trade-offs: streaming needs a supported service client or browser, account access, and a stable connection. Latency and image quality depend on the network; mobile data can incur charges, and service availability, queues, and plan rules vary by provider and country.
- Controls: Xbox’s Fortnite cloud page offers touch or controller play. Do not assume controls or settings work the same way across every provider. Xbox’s Fortnite cloud page also warns that internet or network-provider fees may apply.
Cloud gaming is not guaranteed to work on every older tablet: the service still needs a compatible browser or app, supported Android version, and usable network connection.
Troubleshoot common installation problems

Prepare for the first download and play session
Fortnite’s game download is separate from the store or installer, and its size changes with updates, assets, language, and device. Free more storage than the installer initially requests to accommodate game files, patches, and temporary installation space. Avoid relying on a fixed download-size figure.
- Use Wi-Fi and keep the tablet connected to power for the initial download.
- Close other apps and keep Android and Samsung software up to date.
- On a tablet that only meets minimum requirements, start with lower graphics settings and adjust only if performance is stable.
- Avoid installing while the device is hot or in battery-saver mode; heat and aggressive power limits can impair play.
- Use only the store through which you installed Fortnite for its updates.
Fortnite and the Epic Games Store are free to install, but Fortnite has optional in-app purchases, according to Epic’s Android store page. For a child’s tablet, review account access and parental controls before handing it over.
