You cannot officially unlock everything in Toca Life World for free. The app is free to download, but it includes paid locations and features. You can, however, build a substantial collection without paying by using the starter world, claiming weekly Post Office gifts, and watching for free content added through updates.
What you get for free at the start
The official starter version includes Bop City, with eight locations and 39 characters. That content is available without buying an expansion.

Claim the free weekly gift
The most reliable recurring way to collect free items is the Post Office gift in Bop City. Gifts can include furniture, outfits, decorations, and pets.
- Open Toca Life World.
- Go to Bop City.
- Enter the Post Office.
- Tap the button marked with the gift symbol.
- Wait for the gift to appear.
- Double-tap the gift to open it.
New gifts are released every Friday worldwide at the same time. Each weekly gift is normally available for one week only, so update the app and claim it before the next gift replaces it. Toca Boca recommends using the latest version to avoid missing a gift.
Look for free content added in updates
Some updates add content for everyone rather than requiring a separate purchase. The App Store version history has included examples such as:
Rank #2
- TOCA LIFE PAULINA PINEAPPLE PLUSH: Paulina is the most curious, sunglasses-wearing pineapple around that loves to spy on her neighbors Cuddle up with this spyneapple with this 7-inch plush with accurate design including red sunglasses and embroidered details on the face that fans will love

- Home Designer items: version 1.136.1 listed new items available to everyone.
- Hospital: version 1.126.1 unlocked the Hospital for all players, including five floors, more than 60 characters and pets, and additional items.
- Fashion Store: version 1.124.1 opened a new Fashion Store for everyone.
- A new district: version 1.127.1 added a district for all players, although the version-history text did not name it.
- Miniso USA gifts: version 1.136.1 listed these gifts in the Post Office.
Updates may also contain hidden gems, secret rooms, and surprises in locations. There is no current official inventory confirming every free hidden item, so treat online lists claiming to cover them all with caution.
Are all past gifts available forever?
No. The current official rule is that each weekly gift lasts for one week. The permanent exception is an older group of gifts from 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, which Toca Boca says remain on the Post Office shelves from the earlier Gift Bonanza anniversary event.
That exception does not mean every gift released since then is permanently available. An older Apple article described a limited Gift Bonanza period that ended on December 4; it should not be treated as the current general gift policy.
Rank #3
- Meet 23 new characters
- 4 new apartments with different themes to live and hang out in!
- Shop at the design store to get new furniture and objects for your home - make it your style!
- Bring your best friends to the Rob-o Café and pick out food from the conveyor belt.
- Get a smoothie from the giant smoothie robot. Choose between four tasty flavors!
What to do if a claimed gift disappears
If the game crashes or a reset causes claimed gifts to vanish, do not uninstall the app. Toca Boca’s recovery instruction is:
- Return to the game’s start screen.
- Press the red reset button in the top-right corner.
- Return to the Post Office in Bop City and check the shelves.
This reset clears world progress. Toca Boca says purchases and characters created in Character Creator should remain, and that resetting may also fix missing or distorted created characters. Because world progress is reset, use this step only when necessary.
Why uninstalling is risky
Toca Life World stores saved data and progress locally on the device. Uninstalling the game removes that local data, including gifts. The same problem can occur when moving to another device. Toca Boca says missing gifts cannot be manually restored after uninstalling and reinstalling or switching devices.
Rank #4
- 3-in-1 Transforming Fun: The Bluey airplane playset magically changes from a Bluey toddler toy airplane into a two-level oceanfront resort and a boat, giving young children endless ways to recreate adventures or explore new stories
- All-Inclusive Resort Play: Bluey playset opens into a large plane toy that reveals a spacious two-level holiday resort that sleeps four, with playful details that inspire creative storytelling, beachside fun, and memorable Heeler family vacations
- Over 25 Sounds & Phrases: This Bluey figures set features more than 25 exciting sounds and phrases taken directly from the Bluey TV series, bringing favorite moments to life for imaginative play that is interactive and engaging
- Complete Family Set Included: Bluey characters include Pilot Bluey, Holiday Bingo, Chilli, Bandit, and an exclusive Captain figure for full family adventures, roleplay travel stories, and exciting holiday getaways
- 15 Fun Play Pieces Inside: This Bluey toddler toys set comes with 15 total accessories, including figures and travel-themed items that enhance the fun, making this transforming set the perfect gift for Bluey fans aged 3 and up
In practical terms, uninstalling is not a gift-recovery method. It can permanently remove locally stored progress and claimed items.
Free methods versus paid content
| Method | What it provides | Cost or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Bop City content | Eight locations and 39 characters | Included with the free app |
| Weekly Post Office gift | Items such as furniture, outfits, decorations, or pets | Usually available for one week |
| Free update content | Occasional locations, items, or features made available to everyone | Depends on the specific update |
| Paid store content | Additional locations and features | Requires an in-app purchase; prices vary by region |
Bottom line
There is no verified way to get every paid item in Toca Life World for free. To maximize the legitimate free content, start with Bop City, claim the Post Office gift every Friday, install official updates, and check newly opened areas and publicized free items. If a gift goes missing, use the in-app reset from the start screen rather than uninstalling the game.
