You can work toward free pets in Adopt Me by logging in for Star Rewards, joining active events, and leveling up pets for birthday rewards. These routes may award eggs or other rewards rather than a specific pet, and chance-based rewards are never guaranteed. Check the live game for current offers, and avoid anyone asking for money, Robux, account access, or a pet in exchange for a promised free pet.
How do you get free pets in Adopt Me?
The most straightforward documented route is to earn Stars through daily logins and save them for eggs in the Star Rewards menu. You can also watch for limited-time events with free-to-play tasks, or level up pets to earn birthday gifts that may include an egg or a chance at a pet. Availability and rewards can change, so check the in-game menu and current official event details before spending time or currency.
Compare the main routes
| Route | How it works | What is certain? |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Star Rewards | Log in to earn Stars and redeem them for listed rewards, including eggs. | The September 2026 update lists specific Star thresholds; an egg’s pet outcome can be random. |
| Limited-time events | Complete event activities and exchange event currency when the event is active. | Tasks and rewards depend on the event; past offers are not necessarily available now. |
| Pet leveling | Level a pet and receive a birthday gift at each level-up. | The gift can vary, and the chance of a particular pet is not guaranteed. |
Can you get pets from daily rewards?
Yes. In its September 11, 2026 update, Adopt Me said players earn Bucks and one Star for each day they log in. The listed Star redemptions include a Small Gift for 1 Star, a Royal Fairytale Egg for 14 Stars, and a Gemstone Egg for 28 Stars. Check the live Star Rewards menu for current thresholds and availability.
An egg is a chance to hatch a pet, not a promise of a particular one. The published Gemstone Egg table lists these outcomes and odds in the September 2026 update:

Can events give you a free pet?
Sometimes. Adopt Me events may offer rewards through free gameplay, but each event has its own tasks, currency, and end date. Treat an old event guide as historical unless the event and its rewards appear in the game now.

Example: Campfire Stories
The June 26, 2026 Campfire Stories update described collecting bottles washed ashore and exchanging them with the Irish Setter for a treasure chest. The published chest odds were 65% for 500 Acorns, 30% for two Karp Baits, and 5% for an Age-Up Potion. The same update listed the Irish Setter for 16,000 Acorns. This is an example of an event-currency route, not a current evergreen offer; check whether the event is active before following it.
Past login bonuses are time-limited
For example, an August 1, 2025 update said existing players would receive a Wren for logging in on update day. That specific bonus was tied to that date and should not be treated as available now.

Can leveling up pets earn a free pet?
It can lead to pet-related rewards, but it is not a guaranteed way to receive a particular pet. Adopt Me’s April 17, 2026 Birthday Magic update says a pet receives a birthday gift each time it levels up. Possible gifts include Bucks, random food, potions, gifts or chests, and an egg from the Nursery; the update also describes a chance to adopt the Purrowl Legendary. It says pets that need more Needs to reach the next level have a higher chance of rarer rewards.
Are there any free Adopt Me codes right now?
A current active-code list is not established here, so do not assume that a code works unless it appears in a current official source. Adopt Me’s July 2023 code guidance says promotional codes, when available, are accessible online for free and warns players not to pay for them. Codes bundled with purchased Adopt Me toys are different: buying a toy is not a free-pet method, and the official guidance says those codes are redeemed at Roblox.com/redeem.

How to avoid fake free-pet offers
Use the game’s official reward and trading systems. Adopt Me warns against unsupported trades, cross-trades, and Robux trades, which can lead to scams or account penalties. The developers also say they do not return pets that players trade away. Do not hand over a pet, account access, Robux, or money for a promise of a free pet or code.
Likewise, seeing a gift or pet-containing box in the Gifts catalog does not establish that it is free. Confirm its current in-game price or official event terms before treating it as a no-cost reward. Merchandise is not a substitute: Adopt Me’s merchandise FAQ says in-game merch purchases grant pet wear, while online-store purchases currently do not grant an in-game reward.
