There is no verified active official giveaway for a free shiny Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet as of October 8, 2026. The shiny Koraidon and Miraidon retail-code campaign and all four Shiny Treasures of Ruin Mystery Gift windows documented for 2025 have ended. Check current Pokémon news and your local Pokémon site for a new event; the expired offers below cannot be redeemed now.
What happened to the free shiny Koraidon and Miraidon codes?

The version mapping was unusual: a Pokémon Scarlet save received shiny Miraidon, while a Pokémon Violet save received shiny Koraidon. The official Japanese announcement said customers had to show staff a Nintendo Switch-family console’s HOME screen displaying the icon for either game. Packaged and downloaded copies were accepted; listed systems included Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, and Switch 2. The offer was for Scarlet and Violet, not Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Each code was one-time use, and each save could receive each gift only once. Those were the campaign’s historical terms, not a way to obtain a gift today. Official campaign announcement.
How the Shiny Treasures of Ruin were distributed
Four sequential five-star Tera Raid events featured shiny Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu from July 23 to September 14, 2025. The raid Pokémon could not be caught after defeat. Instead, each shiny became available as a Mystery Gift only if players collectively achieved at least one million victories against that featured Pokémon during its event.

- Embark on a new Pokémon adventure
- Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities.
- Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea.
- Embark on an independent study called the Treasure Hunt to gain new experiences, meet new people, and find your very own treasure.
How to claim a future Mystery Gift
If a new gift is announced, the in-game path is the same unless its event terms say otherwise. Nintendo Support says Poké Portal and Mystery Gift unlock after you reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos.
- In gameplay, press X to open the menu.
- Select Poké Portal, then Mystery Gift.
- Choose Get via Internet to search for gifts currently available online, or Get with Code/Password to enter a valid event code.
- After receiving the Pokémon, check your party or Pokémon Boxes and save your game.
A code must still be valid and the offer must apply to that save. Entering an expired event code will not restore a past distribution. See Nintendo’s Mystery Gift instructions.
Rank #3
- Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.
Where to check for another giveaway
Distribution periods can be short and may differ by region. Before relying on a code or visiting a retailer, check the current official Scarlet and Violet news and the Pokémon site for your country. Confirm the start and end dates, eligible game and save, redemption method, and whether the offer is still available; do not treat a reposted 2025 code as active.
