Use Wonder Pick for an extra randomized chance and save pack points to exchange for a card you still need. None of these methods guarantees a rare pull from a pack or Wonder Pick.
Choose a booster pack that can contain your target
Open the in-game card list and find the exact card you want. Check its expansion and the offering rates for that expansion’s booster packs before spending stamina or hourglasses. Packs from the same expansion can have different card pools, so repeatedly opening a pack that cannot contain your target will not help you get it.
Do not rely on the Pokémon illustrated on a pack’s cover to identify its contents. Use the game’s offering-rate display to confirm that the card is eligible. Card pools can change as new expansions arrive, so check the current in-game information rather than assuming an older list is still accurate. For example, The Pokémon Company announced that Everyday Wonders became available on June 29, 2026: Pokémon news.
Claim your free booster packs regularly
The Pokémon Company International’s official game pages describe two no-cost booster packs per day, while its collecting guide says pack stamina refills every 12 hours. Claiming those openings consistently is a reliable way to build a collection without spending money. You can use pack hourglasses to reduce the wait, but doing so does not improve the odds of a particular card appearing.

Compare the three ways to pursue a card

Save pack points for a card you actually need
Pack points earned from an expansion’s packs can be exchanged for cards from that same expansion. They do not expire, so there is no need to spend them as soon as you have enough. Keep opening packs until you can see which cards remain missing, then use points to finish a deck or fill a specific gap. The official collecting guide recommends saving points until you are missing only a few cards or need a card for a deck: The Pokémon Company International’s collecting guide.

Use Wonder Pick as an extra chance, not a shortcut
Wonder Pick lets you try for cards from booster packs other players have opened. As The Pokémon Company International’s collecting guide puts it, “Wonder picking allows you to get cards from booster packs that your friends and other players have opened.” The five cards are shuffled, and your selection is randomized; seeing a desired card in the selection does not guarantee you will receive it.
Add cards you want to your wishlist so they are marked when they appear in Wonder Pick. Check the stamina cost before choosing, and remember that some extremely rare cards are excluded from Wonder Pick. The official guide explains the feature: Pokémon TCG Pocket guide to collecting cards.

Collect hourglasses and other resources from the game
Complete the in-game Guide, claim available missions, and take part in events to earn resources such as pack hourglasses and shop tickets. The shop may also offer selected Trainer cards and periodically available items. These options can help you make more use of the game’s acquisition systems, but they do not turn randomized pack openings into guaranteed pulls.
Poké gold and the Premium Pass are optional ways to speed up access to in-game resources or content. Spending money does not guarantee a particular card; check the current app for regional availability and pricing.

Keep Pocket separate from the physical card game
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mobile game with digital cards and its own in-game acquisition systems. Physical Pokémon TCG booster packs, binders, sleeves, and accessories do not add cards to your Pocket collection or improve its card odds.
