You can play Gran Turismo on a PS Vita using the digital PSP game Gran Turismo (often called Gran Turismo PSP)—not a native Vita edition. Whether you can buy it now depends on whether it is still listed in your region’s Vita Store. If you already bought it digitally, Sony says previously acquired PSP content remains downloadable.
Can you play Gran Turismo on PS Vita?
Yes, through the PSP digital version. Sony’s compatibility listing identifies Gran Turismo as PSP Digital, and its support guidance says PS Vita can play PSP software. It is not a native PS Vita release. Sony’s PS Vita and PSP compatibility guidance explains the format distinction.

How to get Gran Turismo PSP on Vita

Open the PlayStation Store on your Vita and search for Gran Turismo PSP or Gran Turismo. Check that the result is the PSP digital listing.

If it appears as available to purchase in your region, follow the Vita Store purchase and download prompts. Sony says PSP content that remains available in the PS3 or Vita stores can still be purchased, but that general policy does not guarantee this specific game is currently listed in every region. Before downloading, check the free space on your Vita. Some games require memory-card storage; Sony specifically advises owners of the PCH-1000 model to prepare a separate PS Vita memory card. Requirements depend on the game and console, so check your model and available capacity rather than assuming you need a new card. See Sony’s PS Vita compatibility and storage guidance.

If you previously purchased the game digitally, check your account’s Vita download list or library and download it from there. Sony says previously acquired PSP content remains downloadable, subject to the conditions in its notice.
What if Gran Turismo is not listed?
Sony’s policy covers PSP content that remains available in the store; it does not establish that Gran Turismo PSP can still be newly purchased in your region. If the Vita Store does not show a purchasable listing, the available information does not confirm a new digital purchase route for your account and region. If you own it already, check your download list before concluding it is unavailable to you.

Sony has announced that new purchases on the PS Vita Store will end in July 2027. Its notice says previously acquired content can still be downloaded, but access is subject to each game’s existing online features and service availability. Check the current notice before making plans around future purchases or downloads.
Can you use a PSP UMD on PS Vita?
No. A UMD is a physical PSP disc, while the Vita-compatible Gran Turismo listing is PSP Digital. Buying a UMD is an option for playing on PSP hardware or for a collection, not for playing the game on a Vita.

What game are you getting?
The original Gran Turismo PSP launch-era description from the game’s producers cited more than 800 cars and 35 tracks. Those are product figures from a 2009 Q&A, not details about current store availability. Read the producers’ PlayStation.Blog Q&A.
