How to get Honedge in Pokémon GO
Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash debuted together during the July 2025 Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event. Niantic listed Honedge in one-star raids and in both GO Battle League reward tracks from Rank 6 during the event. After the event, Honedge was scheduled to remain in both reward tracks from Rank 16, with encounters more frequent in the premium track. These were event-specific terms, not a guarantee of permanent availability. Niantic’s event announcement gives the dates and reward details.

Honedge appeared in another limited-time offer during Steeled Resolve, which ran April 28 through May 4, 2026. It was listed in one-star raids and as a GO Pass encounter reward; claims for event rewards expired May 6. The Steeled Resolve announcement describes those routes.
Those announcements establish past opportunities only. They do not confirm an active Honedge encounter route on October 8, 2026. Check the current in-game raid, reward, and event listings, along with official Pokémon GO announcements, before planning around an encounter.

How to evolve Honedge into Aegislash
Niantic gives the Candy costs as 25 Honedge Candy for Honedge to Doublade and 100 more for Doublade to Aegislash. The official evolution announcement lists no extra item or special task for this line.
- Catch Honedge and collect at least 25 Honedge Candy.
- Open Honedge’s Pokémon summary and choose the evolve option to evolve it into Doublade.
- Collect at least 100 additional Honedge Candy, then evolve Doublade into Aegislash from its summary.
Niantic’s evolution help page explains that requirements vary by species and that the Pokémon summary displays the Candy cost and any applicable conditions.

- Outside battle, Aegislash is in Shield Forme.
- Before it executes a Charged Attack, it changes from Shield Forme to Blade Forme.
- After you use a Protect Shield or switch Aegislash out, it returns to Shield Forme.
The same community analysis reports that Aegislash’s Fast Attack in Shield Forme has 0 base power and generates 6 energy per use, with its duration unchanged. The reported forme shift creates a clear tradeoff: Shield Forme has substantially higher Defense, while Blade Forme has substantially higher Attack; both are reported with the same Stamina. Because the cited account is community analysis and battle behavior may change, use it as a guide to the described mechanic rather than a guarantee of current PvP performance.
