How to Get Into the Mobile Lab in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

In the opening mission, “There and Back Again,” enter the mobile lab from its roof: climb the yellow ladders on the bunker’s exterior, open the red-lit hatch, then use the ladder prompt to climb down. The ground-level door is not the route described in the walkthrough.

How to reach the mobile lab

1. After emerging from the sewer, follow the compass and objective marker toward the lab. Avoid areas marked with radiation symbols; enemies and ruined houses may lie along the way.

2. At the large stone bunker, look for the yellow ladders fixed to its outside wall and climb to the roof.

3. Find the red light on the roof. Open the hatch beneath it to access the lab.

4. When prompted, interact with the ladder to descend. Do not simply drop through the hatch: the fall can cause significant damage.

This route is described in the GamesRadar+ opening mission walkthrough. It does not identify the game version or platform, so the route is not tied here to a particular patch or platform.

What to do once inside

1. Search the west side of the lab for Nehoda’s body. Loot the PDA and activate the fuse box next to the body.

2. Return toward the ladder entrance and find the room with a body and a laptop. Interact with the laptop to trigger a radio message.

3. Leave through the north-east door beside the body wearing an orange hazmat suit.
