The Vatican Museum entrance in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is locked until the story sends you there with Gina. Progress The Stolen Cat Mummy, give the parchment to Father Antonio, and leave the library to start A Nun in Trouble. Follow Gina’s fieldwork; she opens the museum door during that sequence.
How to reach the Vatican Museum
- Finish the library part of The Stolen Cat Mummy. Bring the parchment to Father Antonio, then leave the library. This starts the fieldwork A Nun in Trouble.
- Speak with Gina and follow the objectives. Continue the fieldwork until Gina leads Indy toward the museum.
- Cross the restricted area in Belvedere Courtyard. Head to the secure area beside the library, slip between the wooden crates, and avoid the Blackshirts as you move toward the Museum Wing.
- Stay with Gina at the locked entrance. The door marked “Musei Vaticani” will not open if you reach it too early. When the fieldwork advances to the museum sequence, Gina picks the lock. Continue through the wing and use the window she left open as the infiltration route.
Why the museum door is still locked
Reaching the “Musei Vaticani” door is not enough: the entrance is tied to the A Nun in Trouble story sequence. Check that the fieldwork is active and that its objective has advanced to following Gina to the museum. If it has not, continue the quest rather than trying to force the door.
A Blackshirt disguise can help you move through restricted areas, but it does not unlock the museum entrance; Gina’s part in the quest does. Be careful around a guard captain, who may see through the disguise.
The chest code is a separate puzzle
The code 6380 belongs to the optional mystery A Date to Remember, which involves a shipment chest in a tent inside the Museum Wing. To solve that chest puzzle, collect the Code Lookup Table, Calendar Page, and Secret Delivery Letter. The code does not open the museum door.
