You can get most Poké Ball types in Pokémon Legends: Z-A through Pokémon Center and Tamaya shops, story and side-mission rewards, and late-game Hyperspace or battle rewards. One exception matters: GameWith’s September 20, 2026 guide lists the Precious Ball, but says it is not obtainable as an inventory item; it can appear on certain distributed Pokémon. The acquisition routes below are reported by that secondary guide, not documented on Pokémon’s official game page.
How to get the standard Poké Balls
Check Pokémon Centers as the story advances: Great and Ultra Balls unlock at specific Main Missions, while field pickups and mission rewards can supplement your supply. Prices and unlock points here are reported by GameWith in its guide updated September 20, 2026.

The Master Ball’s research reward is the clearest reported route. The guide does not provide a rate for the possible Royale ∞ reward, so treat that as an uncommon extra chance rather than a dependable source.
Where to buy specialty Poké Balls
Tamaya is the main reported shop source for specialty balls. GameWith lists Premier Balls at ₽200, Heal Balls at ₽300, eight specialty types at ₽1,000 each, and Luxury Balls at ₽3,000.

| Reported price | Ball types at Tamaya |
|---|---|
| ₽200 | Premier Ball |
| ₽300 | Heal Ball |
| ₽1,000 each | Net Ball, Nest Ball, Dive Ball, Dusk Ball, Timer Ball, Quick Ball, Repeat Ball, and other standard shop variants listed by the guide |
| ₽3,000 | Luxury Ball |
Some side missions also grant balls, including a Premier Ball for “Choose a Street Name” and a Heal Ball for “A New Fennekin’s First Job.” The guide gives the latter mission title in Japanese, so the English rendering may differ in-game. It also reports specialty-ball rewards from missions involving Cocoon, Phantump, Carvanha, and other Pokémon. Check a mission’s reward before completing it if you are seeking a particular ball.
What each special-effect ball is suited to
GameWith describes the following target conditions and effects. These are qualitative descriptions: the guide does not publish numeric catch-rate multipliers, and the effects have not been independently tested here.

How to get rare and late-game balls
Several specialty balls are tied to higher-star Hyperspace areas, postgame battles, or rewards that may rotate. GameWith does not give exact drop rates for these routes.
- Fast, Friend, Lure, Level, Heavy, Love, and Moon Balls: reported from four-star-or-higher Hyperspace areas, Z-A Royale ∞ reward battles, ranked battle rewards, and selected side missions.
- Dream Ball: reported from a five-star Special Search Hyperspace area, rare Z-A Battle Club rank-up rewards, and a side mission.
- Beast/Ultra Ball and Safari Ball: reported from five-star Special Search Hyperspace areas and rare Z-A Battle Club rank-up rewards.
- Sport/Competition Ball: reported from five-star Special Search Hyperspace areas, rare Z-A Battle Club rank-up rewards, and Ranked Battle Season 17 rewards.
The guide also lists some of the seven balls in the first bullet as a limited-time early-purchase DLC bonus that ended February 28, 2026. That offer has passed; it is not a current way to claim them. Ranked-season rewards and other reward pools can change, so check the current in-game rotation rather than relying on a past season’s list.

Can you collect the Precious Ball?
Not as a normal inventory item, according to GameWith. Its 26-entry list includes the Precious Ball because certain distributed Pokémon can come in one, but the guide says players cannot obtain the ball itself as a usable item. If your goal is one of each ball in your bag, exclude it from the collectible list.
