Open the Nearby menu, select a Power Spot, then tap the Max Particle bubbles on its details screen. You can also collect Max Particles through exploration rewards, including Adventure Sync; check Nearby to see what is available.

Collect Max Particles at a Power Spot

  1. Open Pokémon GO and check the Nearby menu for Power Spots.
  2. Tap a Power Spot to open its details.
  3. Tap the Max Particle bubbles displayed on the screen to collect them.

Your first interaction with a Power Spot can grant extra particles, but Niantic’s current guidance does not specify the amount. Power Spots can change location, so use the live map and Nearby menu to find one.

Get particles through exploration

Exploration is another collection route, and Adventure Sync can contribute. Open Nearby to check for available exploration rewards and claim them there. Niantic does not specify a universal walking distance or a fixed particle yield per distance, so do not rely on a particular step or distance target.

Understand the collection and storage limits

Niantic’s Help Center currently lists a daily collection limit of 800 Max Particles and a storage capacity of 1,500 Max Particles. These are separate limits: the first restricts how many you collect in a day, while the second caps how many you can hold at once. If a collection attempt is blocked, check both the daily amount collected and your current inventory.

Event bonuses can change the amount available or raise the daily collection limit. For example, Pokémon GO’s 2024 GO Wild Area: Global event listed daily limits of 1,600 and 3,200 as event-specific bonuses. Those historical event values are not the standard limit; check the current in-game display and official event announcement for active bonuses.

Where collected Max Particles are useful

Max Particles are used to enter Max Battles and train Max Moves. Niantic also offers Max Particle packs as digital products through the in-game shop or Web Store, but buying a pack is not required to collect particles from Power Spots or exploration.
