Get Mechanical Components in ARC Raiders by crafting them at the Refiner, recycling eligible loot, scavenging Mechanical areas and ARC enemies, or claiming quest rewards. For a dependable supply, check your current Refiner recipe first; field loot is variable, and published recipe guides disagree.
Which method should you use?

These routes have different trade-offs: refining depends on your materials, while scavenging depends on what you find during a raid. Available sources do not establish average yields or which route is fastest.
Craft them at the Refiner
Start by opening the Refiner and checking the recipe displayed in your current game build. The recipe is not consistent across the reviewed guides: the ARC Raiders Wiki lists 7 Metal Parts and 3 Rubber Parts for 1 Mechanical Component at Refiner 1, while All Things How lists 15 Metal Parts and 3 Steel Springs for 1 component, with a ten-minute craft time. Neither listing resolves the discrepancy, so use the in-game panel rather than spending materials based on either recipe alone.
Recycle eligible loot
Recycling is another way to turn collected materials into components. PC Gamer identifies scrap and some weapons as possible sources, but eligibility can vary. Inspect the item in the recycler before deciding to dismantle it; do not assume that every weapon or piece of scrap produces Mechanical Components. PC Gamer’s guide also describes Scrappy gathering as a main acquisition route.

Scavenge Mechanical areas and ARC enemies
Mechanical is the listed loot category for this material, and ARC scavenging is also listed as a source by the ARC Raiders Wiki. Search relevant containers and caches when you are topside, but treat this as a chance to find components rather than a guaranteed drop. The Mechanical Field guide describes drops there as variable, so repeated runs may be needed.

Quest availability and rewards can change or depend on your progress, so check the current quest screen and reward preview before planning around these quantities. The listed rewards are tied to completing the named quests; they are not a repeatable supply route unless the game makes the quests repeatable.

Mechanical Components are an uncommon refined material used in weapon and attachment recipes. The ARC Raiders Hub lists 5 as a requirement for the Gunsmith level 2 upgrade; consult the current workshop screen to confirm the requirement in your build. The component reference also distinguishes Advanced Mechanical Components from the basic material. Its listed Refiner 2 recipe uses 2 Mechanical Components and 2 Steel Springs to make 1 Advanced Mechanical Component, so check your own recipe panel before converting components that you may need elsewhere.
