Where Memory Vestiges of Light come from
Memory Vestiges of Light come from glowing enemies in Cyst missions in the Pale Heart. Bungie Help’s progression guidance recommends exploring the Pale Heart and trying Cyst missions as part of The Final Shape content. Its wording does not establish that finishing the campaign is required for every Vestige drop.

In a support reply dated March 23, 2026, Bungie Help describes defeating glowing white enemies in Cysts to earn the Vestiges. The source confirms the general activity and enemy cue, but does not identify a particular Cyst as a guaranteed farm.
How to turn Vestiges into a Memory and find the chest
- Enter a Pale Heart Cyst. Progress through The Final Shape content and choose a Cyst mission in the Pale Heart.
- Defeat the glowing enemies. Watch for Memory Vestige: Light drops from the visibly glowing enemies.
- Collect five Light Vestiges. Bungie Help says five automatically combine into a Memory of Light. Its support reply gives Memory: Refractions of Light as a specific example.
- Track the Memory on the map. Open the Pale Heart map and use the Memory marker to locate the associated Prismatic chest. Bungie’s example links Memory: Refractions of Light to the chest containing Facet of Awakening; the reply does not document every Memory-and-chest pairing.
- After opening a Memory chest, earn another Vestige. Bungie support guidance says collecting a new Vestige after using a Memory is needed before remaining Vestiges convert into another Memory.
What to check if Vestiges or the chest seem missing
The chest is not at the location
Check that the relevant Memory has formed and is present, then track its marker on the Pale Heart map. The official support example describes following the Memory marker to the chest; it does not establish that every chest can be opened by visiting its location without the corresponding Memory.

Held Vestiges are not combining
Check your inventory for an existing Memory. If you have already used one, collect another Vestige to prompt conversion of remaining held Vestiges, as described in Bungie support guidance.
Glowing enemies or drops are not appearing
The confirmed general source is glowing enemies in Cysts. Player support discussions include reports of missing drops and conversion problems, including a 2026 report, but those reports do not establish a current universal bug or a reliable workaround. The available guidance does not confirm a guaranteed Cyst rotation or a particular Cyst that always drops Vestiges. Deleting items, restarting, or repeatedly farming a named Cyst should not be treated as proven fixes.
