How each recruitment route works
Use capsules for straightforward random pulls
Capsules are the basic random-summon route. Combat Codex lists an approximate 3% chance of an elite and prices of 400 gems for one capsule or 2,000 gems for five. Those figures are not guaranteed current prices or rates; check the capsule screen before using gems.
Use faction orbs when you want to narrow the pool
Faction orbs let you choose which eligible factions to draw from, making them less broad than capsules. The guide reports an approximate 7% elite rate and says orbs are not directly purchasable except through a rotating shop offer. It also says the special Cobra and Griffin factions cannot be selected alone. Treat all of these as community-guide information and verify the current orb options in game.

Collect shards for summons and a later choice
Rare hero shards and elite hero shards are separate progress routes. The guide says 20 blue rare hero shards yield one rare summon, with blue shards available from events. For elite progress, it reports that 100 orbs grant 50 elite hero shards, enough for one random elite summon. At 1,000 elite shards, the guide says players receive a cartridge showing four random elite fighters and can choose one.
The currency guide also lists achievements, guild achievements, casino rewards, collect actions, guild shop rolls, mail, and market offers as sources of orbs. Availability can vary by game version, so inspect current rewards and shop listings. Combat Codex’s currency guide describes those sources and the roles of capsules, orbs, and hero shards.

Why some fighters may take longer to get
Combat Codex describes Cobra and Griffin fighters as harder to obtain, citing lower orb rates and higher capsule pity thresholds than for other factions. The same guide says those factions cannot be selected alone with faction orbs. These are guide-reported mechanics rather than independently verified rates; consult the live summon interface for the current pool and any displayed pity information. A duplicate is not necessarily wasted: according to Combat Codex’s promotion guide, duplicate copies are fused to raise a fighter’s rank and maximum level cap. If you pull a fighter you already own, check the promotion requirements before deciding what to do with that copy.

Choose a route based on what you need
- Want any new fighter? Capsules provide random pulls; compare the current gem cost and displayed odds first.
- Want to focus on a faction? Use faction orbs if available, while checking which factions can actually be selected.
- Building toward a guaranteed choice? Track elite hero shard progress toward the cartridge; the guide’s stated milestone offers a choice among four random elite options, not an unrestricted selection.
- Want a specific rare summon? Check events for blue rare hero shards and monitor the shard count.
- Already have the fighter? Review promotion needs, since duplicates can raise rank and level cap.
