Choose the route that fits the reward you want

How to earn Portal activity rewards
- Open the Portal activity interface. Review the available activity and the forecast Reward Package before launching.
- Choose an activity you can complete reliably. The package depends on Reward Rank and activity score; a higher score contributes toward the package threshold shown in the interface.
- Play for score and finish the activity. At completion, claim the projected package. Some longer activities also have mid-activity chests, and challenging enemies can sometimes drop rewards, including engrams. These are additional chances, not guarantees for every activity or enemy. If the aim is simply to collect more gear, prioritize completing the available activity and reaching the score target displayed there. Bungie’s published notes do not establish a particular Portal activity as the fastest engram farm.

How to trade Legendary Marks for vendor engrams
- Complete Triumphs in the Monument of Triumph category. These are the route Bungie describes for earning Legendary Marks.
- Visit the Guardian Tenet vendors in the Tower. Review each vendor’s engram contents to find an offering that includes the type of reward you want.
- Check the current cost and contents before spending. Bungie describes repeatable purchases and lists tiered weapons and event rewards among the offerings, but the live vendor inventory is the authority for what is available to your character. Bungie’s June 4, 2026 update; Update 9.7.0
Are raids, Nightfalls, or Crucible better farms?
Bungie’s New and Returning Player Guide lists raids, Nightfalls, dungeons, Lost Sectors, Strikes, Public Events, Crucible, and other activities as Legendary gear sources. It does not provide current drop rates or compare engrams earned per hour, and it predates the Portal reward system. Treat those activities as options to check in game, not as proven top-yield farms.
Older instructions about ritual playlist engrams and seasonal vendor engrams describe prior reward systems, not a dependable current farming route. Bungie documented ritual engrams in its 2023 Economy and Rewards Update and seasonal engrams in Update 7.0.0.1. In May 2026, Bungie also announced the retirement of seasonal events and said some event weapon rewards would move to Monument of Triumph vendor engrams; that announcement does not establish that every former event reward is available there.
