Then add Sims using Testing Cheats or MCCC’s move commands. For households over eight, use MCCC’s individual-Sim Modify in CAS command—not the standard household editor, which is limited to eight and can remove extra members.
Check that MCCC matches your Sims 4 patch
MCCC compatibility depends on the installed game version. Before installing or updating the mod, compare your patch with the project’s official release and compatibility listing. The listing identifies MCCC 2026.5.0 as tested with the Sims 4 patch released September 22, 2026: PC 1.128.90.1030 and Mac 1.128.90.1230. Those are version-specific figures, not a guarantee of compatibility with other patches; the release page also cautions that earlier game versions may not be compatible.

Raise the household maximum
- Click an in-game computer.
- Choose MC Command Center > MCCC Settings > Gameplay Settings > Maximum Household Size.
- Set the maximum to a value greater than eight.
This changes the limit MCCC uses for household size. It does not remove the base game’s eight-Sim restriction in standard household-management and Create a Sim interfaces.
Add Sims to the household
For a household that is, or will become, larger than eight, use a supported route rather than the usual household-management flows:

- Gather your Sim’s family to participate in new activities and spend quality time with each other. Sims of all ages can work together to complete a variety of school projects, express their creativity using construction blocks, or volunteer their time for good.
- Customize your Sims’ looks and their home with new family fashion and build items. Give the kids’ bedrooms extra personality, remodel the kitchen to feel homier, and let your Sims express their sporty or artistic sides with new outfits.
- Testing Cheats: With Testing Cheats enabled, Shift-click the Sim and choose the option to add them to the family.
- MCCC move commands: Use MCCC’s
sim_movecommand to move Sims between households or into the active household. MCCC also documents a Sim Command under Maintain Sim for moving Sims between households. See the MCCC module documentation for command details.
The MCCC FAQ warns that standard Sims 4 methods for adding Sims cannot reliably manage households above eight. Its official FAQ covers the limitation and the MCCC options.

To change an individual Sim in an oversized household, click that Sim and choose MCCC > Sim Commands > Modify in CAS (or the equivalent Modify in CAS option in the MCCC Sim menu). This opens the individual Sim for editing through MCCC.

Avoid sending the oversized household through the standard Manage Households or Edit in CAS flows. Those core-game interfaces are hard-coded to eight Sims, and the FAQ warns that ordinary Edit in CAS functions can delete Sims beyond the eighth. For the same reason, do not use a dresser, closet, or mirror to edit members of that oversized household; use MCCC’s single-Sim Modify in CAS command instead.
