Epic originally tied Mr. Dappermint to linking LEGO and Epic Games accounts, while Chord Kahele required earning XP in Fortnite’s mobile app by February 21, 2025. Check your in-game Locker and Item Shop for current availability; the old promotion details do not confirm either outfit can still be claimed today.
How the two free offers worked
| Outfit | Original free method | Requirement | What to know now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mr. Dappermint | Link LEGO and Epic Games accounts | Use the Epic account you play Fortnite on. Epic said players who had already linked accounts would receive the outfit when the promotion began. | LEGO’s overview still points to account linking, but Epic’s original promotion announcement was dated. Do not assume a new link today will grant the outfit. |
| Chord Kahele | Earn XP in Fortnite through the mobile app | Earn XP by February 21, 2025. | The deadline has passed. Epic said Chord Kahele might appear in the Item Shop later, but that does not confirm a current listing. |
Epic’s December 10, 2024 announcement tied these offers to the launch of LEGO Fortnite Brick Life. It also described Chord Kahele as having LEGO and Fortnite styles. Epic calls the cosmetics “Outfits”; “skins” is the familiar player term. Epic’s announcement and LEGO’s overview describe the promotions.
How to check for Mr. Dappermint
- Go to Epic’s account connection page through LEGO’s Fortnite overview.
- Sign in to the Epic Games account you use to play Fortnite, then connect the LEGO account as directed.
- Open Fortnite using that Epic account and check the Locker for Mr. Dappermint.
Epic’s original announcement said linking accounts from December 10 would automatically unlock Mr. Dappermint. Players who had linked their accounts before the promotion began were also meant to receive the outfit in their Locker. First-time linkers were additionally offered Explorer Emilie. The announcement does not say that buying a LEGO set was necessary. These are the original promotion terms, not a guarantee that linking accounts now will still unlock either outfit.
Can you still get Chord Kahele for free?
The original free route was to earn XP while playing Fortnite on the mobile app by February 21, 2025. Because Epic announced the promotion in December 2024, that deadline has passed; the old mobile XP offer should not be treated as an active quest.

What not to buy or assume
- You do not need to buy a physical LEGO Fortnite set to meet the unlock instructions described in Epic’s announcement.
- Do not buy a phone, tablet, account, or code to pursue the expired Chord Kahele XP offer.
- LEGO’s page describes physical sets separately from the game promotions; it does not say that buying a set grants either outfit.
