The Hypixel SkyBlock Wiki lists a 20% chance for Spectre Dust to drop from a Wither Spectre. Lava Fishing is another listed source.
Get Spectre Dust from Wither Spectres
- Travel to the Crimson Isle and go to the left side of the Stronghold, where Wither Spectres naturally spawn.
- Defeat Wither Spectres and collect any Spectre Dust they drop. The Wither Spectre page lists the mob as hostile, with 300,000 HP and 2,000 damage; these are community-wiki values and may change.
The Spectre Dust item page lists a 20% drop chance. That is a chance on a drop roll, not a guarantee or a promise that a set number of kills will produce the item.

Use Lava Fishing as an alternative
Hypixel’s Lava Fishing loot table also includes Spectre Dust, with a listed weight of 20. The table shows different probability figures for its listed fishing conditions, so the weight should not be treated as a universal chance for every player. The available figures do not establish whether fishing or hunting Spectres is faster or more rewarding for a particular setup.
What Spectre Dust is used for
The item page lists Spectre Dust as an ingredient in Suspicious Stew and Mycelium Dust recipes. It also reports the item as tradeable. Its history records that it stopped being Co-op Soulbound in version 0.20.9, dated December 3, 2024.
