The Nintendo Switch 2 Age of Hatred Collection includes Diablo IV, the Vessel of Hatred expansion and Lord of Hatred. To start, get the collection from your local Nintendo eShop, make room for its download, connect to the internet and sign in to a Battle.net account. Nintendo Switch Online is only required for cross-play with players on other platforms—not for cross-progression.
What’s included, and where do you get it?
The collection bundles the base game with both expansions: Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. Nintendo’s regional listings give different release dates: Nintendo UK lists 15 September 2026, while Nintendo of America described the game as available on 16 September 2026. Check your local eShop for current availability and regional pricing.
The listed download size also varies by region: Nintendo UK gives 69.4 GB, while Nintendo Australia lists a 71.4 GB file size. Check the listing for your region and confirm your Switch 2 has enough available storage before downloading. Nintendo UK’s collection description also lists 14 character slots and seven stash tabs.

What do you need before the first launch?
- A Nintendo Account: Use it to access the eShop and obtain the game.
- A Battle.net account: Nintendo says the game requires one. Sign in to an existing account or create one when prompted.
- An internet connection: The game requires a persistent connection; it is not an offline game.
- Enough storage: Use your regional eShop listing as the best guide to the download size, and leave room for updates if needed.
The official listings establish these requirements, but do not specify every screen or account-linking prompt, so follow the instructions shown on your console and Battle.net when setting up.
Do you need Nintendo Switch Online?
It depends on how you want to play. Blizzard’s Switch 2 FAQ says an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required for cross-play with people on other platforms. It is not required for cross-progression or the listed activities below.

Can you continue a character from another platform?
Blizzard says cross-progression lets you access progress on supported platforms, including Switch 2. Link the relevant platform accounts to the same Battle.net account, then use that account when playing. Blizzard’s FAQ does not fully detail how platform-specific licenses or content entitlements work, so do not assume owning the game or an expansion on one platform automatically grants it on another.
