Can you play Astonishia Story on Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo lists Astonishia Story as a digital Nintendo Switch title and marks it “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That indicates the listed Switch game is supported on Switch 2; Nintendo does not describe it as a separate Switch 2 Edition. The store currently gives February 11, 2027 as the release date, so the game is not yet available to play as of October 4, 2026. Check Nintendo’s US store listing near launch in case the date or compatibility information changes.
What kind of RPG is it?
NIS America describes Astonishia Story as an updated version of a classic Korean RPG. Its story follows Lloyd von Reuental as he tries to recover a stolen relic and stop the Elven Queen from awakening an ancient god. The listed core activities include exploration, grid-based battles, and recruiting allies or mercenaries. These are publisher-described features, not a firsthand account of the finished Switch 2 experience. Prepare your Switch 2 before launch
- Recheck the listing. Visit the Nintendo eShop product page close to release to verify the date and Switch 2 support.
- Choose the format you want. Nintendo’s US listing identifies a digital Switch game. NIS America separately offers a Special Edition with a Nintendo Switch platform option. Check the live listings for price and included extras before buying; the available official information does not establish Amazon stock or confirm a physical standard edition.
- Allow storage space. Nintendo currently estimates the download at 2.4 GB for both Switch and Switch 2. Treat that as a store estimate and check the final download size when the game becomes available.
- Pick a play mode. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. The game is listed for one player on one system.
- Use the game’s own instructions at launch. Follow its tutorial and on-screen control prompts rather than relying on button mappings or opening steps that have not been published.
What to pay attention to as a new player
NIS America’s beginner guidance is to talk to everyone: optional mercenaries may be willing to join the party. The publisher also says party members have distinct skill sets, so pay attention to how characters differ as you build your group. In grid battles, watch how units move, when they can use abilities, and how positioning matters. These are confirmed systems to learn, not a claim about a particular optimal party or tactic.

The available pre-release material does not verify the Switch control scheme, tutorial order, save prompts, difficulty options, or first-battle strategy. Those details should be learned from the game itself after release rather than guessed in advance.
Rating, play modes, and cloud saves
The ESRB rates Astonishia Story T for Teen for Blood, Fantasy Violence, Language, and Use of Alcohol. Its rating summary describes turn-based combat with swords, maces, staffs, melee attacks, and magic, as well as occasional blood-splatter effects, corpses, violent scenes, drinking references, and profanity. Families can use that content summary when deciding whether the game is a fit.

Nintendo lists Save Data Cloud support and says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for cloud backup. That requirement applies to cloud backup; Nintendo lists the game itself as single-player, not as an online multiplayer title.
