The report calls individual slow zombies easy to handle but says they can become troublesome in groups. If several enemies are present, watch their spacing and movement before choosing where to engage. A short pause to understand the threat can be more useful than trying to land attacks as quickly as possible. The source does not establish a complete enemy list or the exact behavior of every foe.
In a group, consider how one enemy’s position affects the others rather than focusing only on the closest target. The zombie example shows why: a foe that is manageable alone can become a problem when several are present. In that PS5 session, Circle performed a dodge and slide, and double-tapping Circle produced a backward flip. The report also notes dodge invincibility frames. These are platform-specific reported bindings and observations; they may not describe other platforms, remapped controls, or later updates. Check the current control settings and practice defensive movement where you can pay attention to the result.
Use a dodge to respond to an observed threat rather than treating it as an automatic answer to every attack. The hands-on report supports the value of timing and learning patterns, but it does not specify the timing window, duration of invulnerability, or a universal sequence for each enemy. Keep your plan flexible until you learn how a particular encounter behaves.
Sliding and the reported backward flip are additional movement options in that PS5 account, but the report does not explain when one is preferable to another. Start by learning what each input does on your setup, then try it in a relatively manageable situation so you can recognize its movement and timing. Do not assume the Circle binding applies if you are playing with another controller or have remapped buttons.
Manage mana as a shared resource
Brotherson’s hands-on report observed mana recovery from defeating enemies and mana being spent on both spells and healing. In that session, those uses competed for the same resource. If you rely on spells whenever they are available, you may have less mana to heal; if you preserve mana for healing, you may use fewer spells. Consider the danger in front of you before spending it.

Because the report observed mana recovery from defeated enemies, combat may replenish the resource, but that is not a reason to spend it without a plan. You may want a spell for an immediate threat, or you may want to keep healing available if a dangerous section is ahead. The report provides no exact recovery figures or spell costs, so do not build a fixed budget around assumed numbers. Watch the meter and learn how the current version responds.
Explore systematically without turning every detour into a fight
Check side routes and suspicious surfaces
Konami describes secrets, puzzles, traps, hidden rooms, and breakable walls. PlayStation Blog’s overview adds that some breakable walls can reveal meat that restores health. These clues make careful exploration worthwhile: look for side passages and surfaces that seem out of place, and investigate rather than moving past every possible route.

There is no verified list of secret-wall locations or complete map in the available descriptions. Do not assume every unusual wall is breakable, or that a particular visual detail always signals a secret. When a route seems promising, search nearby at a measured pace and keep an eye out for traps. Exploration is useful, but rushing into an unknown space can put you at a disadvantage.

Use the health-restoring meat example as a reason to check suspicious walls, not as a guarantee that every breakable wall contains healing. The official descriptions also mention puzzles and traps, so an unexplored branch may involve more than a reward. If an area feels risky, first consider the enemies and hazards you have already seen; no source establishes a safe sequence for clearing rooms or a universal method for finding secrets.
Remember paths you cannot reach yet
The July hands-on report describes a large map with visible areas that Rose could not reach until she obtained a relevant skill. That suggests a useful exploration habit: notice blocked routes, then reconsider them after you gain new abilities. You do not need to force every obstacle immediately or treat one inaccessible platform as proof that you missed a hidden entrance.
The report does not provide a complete ability order or confirm every traversal skill. It says the session did not include a double jump; level-design clues led the reporter to think one might appear later, but that was speculation, not confirmation. Do not plan a route around a double jump or assume when it becomes available.
When you encounter a blocked route, remember what stopped you—without assuming which ability will eventually solve it. After a boss or another progression milestone grants a new tool, it can be worth returning to areas that looked reachable but were inaccessible. The hands-on report supports revisiting blocked routes in general; it does not identify every ability gate, how the map records them, or the best order for backtracking.
Approach bosses and progression as opportunities to learn
According to the July hands-on report, defeating bosses can turn them into Arcana, which unlock spells, skills, and special actions. The report also mentions tasks that can improve Arcana. This gives bosses a progression role beyond simply clearing the room: pay attention to the abilities or options that become available after a fight, and consider whether they could change how you handle combat or exploration.
The report does not establish the full boss order, every Arcana effect, or a complete task list. It also does not support a recommended boss strategy for a specific encounter. After a progression milestone, review the newly available tools and think about whether a previously difficult fight or blocked route might now have another solution.
Arcana are therefore worth checking after a boss encounter rather than treating the fight as the only important event. The report says tasks can improve Arcana, but does not list those tasks or explain their requirements. Read the descriptions presented in the game and decide whether the resulting spell, skill, or special action fits your approach. There is not enough documented detail to prescribe an upgrade order or identify a must-have Arcana.
Build a loadout around your habits
Konami’s official game site describes seven weapon categories and Relics with offensive and defensive effects. Brotherson’s PS5 hands-on report says Rose could equip up to three relics in that session. These details support trying equipment that complements your preferred approach, but they do not establish an optimal combination or prove that every version has the same loadout limit.

Think about what you want a loadout to help you do: attack more comfortably, defend more effectively, or support a style built around movement and exploration. When you find a new relic, read its actual effect and compare it with the gear you already use. Keep the option that helps you make better decisions in the situations you encounter; do not choose an item solely because its category sounds powerful.
The three-relic limit is a detail from one PS5 hands-on session, not a cross-platform guarantee. If your version presents a different equipment limit or menu, follow what the game shows. Likewise, the official site’s broad description of offensive and defensive Relic effects does not provide item names, numerical bonuses, or combinations. Treat equipment as something to evaluate from its displayed effect, not as a solved build system with a confirmed best setup.

Konami announced on October 1, 2026 that a demo launched for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The official game site lists October 15, 2026 as the full game’s release date. Because that date is still two days away as of October 13, 2026, check the current store listing for the release status in your region before relying on it.
Konami says demo progress can transfer to the full version if you use the same platform and account, retain the demo save, and update the full game. The announcement also warns that some features or content may be restricted in the demo. If you want to continue a demo save, keep it and make sure the full game is updated; switching platforms or accounts does not meet the stated transfer conditions.
The transfer conditions are worth checking before you invest time in the demo: continue on the same platform, use the same account, keep the demo save, and update the full game. Konami does not say that a save will transfer across platforms or accounts, so do not assume a PS5 demo save, for example, can carry over to a different platform. Demo access also does not guarantee that every system or area available in the full game is included.
Check the listed editions and technical requirements
Konami says physical and digital editions are available for preorder. If you prefer a physical copy, use the current retailer or platform listing to confirm what is actually offered in your region; the product information here does not establish retailer stock, a specific Amazon listing, or affiliate availability. For a store search, the phrase Castlevania Belmont’s Curse PS5 is a clear way to find the PS5 product page. The demo is a separate download option, not a physical product.

Konami producer Tsutomu Taniguchi told PlayStation Blog, “We really wanted to capture the essence of the series.” That is useful development context, not a promise about a particular mechanic or a substitute for learning the game’s controls and systems.
