For the most favorable version of the regular ending, protect Semine, prevent Maleshov from being burned, spare Brabant, and do not personally kill Markvart. Make restrained choices throughout the game, and rescue Samuel if you value his life over the silver. These decisions shape the parents’ judgment of Henry in the epilogue; they do not create a wholly separate final campaign.
What counts as the best ending?
The standard story concludes with an epilogue whose dialogue and tone reflect Henry’s earlier actions. His parents can recognize restraint while still criticizing crimes, so one good decision will not necessarily offset a pattern of dishonorable behavior. The game tracks behavior through its systems: Xbox Wire says decisions can affect character behavior, dialogue options, and quest lines (Xbox Wire).
The route below aims for the positive judgment in that regular epilogue. A separate, patch-added route in The Lion’s Den can instead produce an early victory screen; it is an exception, not another version of the Suchdol epilogue.
Choices for the positive regular ending
Protect Semine in Necessary Evil
Side with Lord Semine and his son. When reporting back to Von Bergow, let Hans do the talking. GameSpot warns that openly telling Von Bergow Henry killed Hashek can trigger an early game-over scene after siding with Semine. PC Gamer also describes a route that prevents the raid by withholding information about Olda Semine’s bandit involvement. These are ways to protect the settlement and avoid turning the report into a fatal confrontation.

Keep Maleshov from burning in Dancing with the Devil
Reject the Dry Devil’s plan to set the settlement alight. Fight him and take command so the mission continues without using fire to distract the defenders. This approach is harder than following the burning-village plan, but it avoids sacrificing Maleshov.
Do not take revenge on Markvart in Reckoning
If you find Markvart in the tavern, leave him to die from his wounds rather than stabbing him. The guides treat both a dignified and a cruel killing as Henry personally taking revenge; leaving Markvart alive is associated with the favorable judgment.

Spare Brabant after defeating him
Defeat Brabant, then let him live. He raises the alarm and makes the escape more difficult, but sparing him is part of the restrained route.
Keep Henry’s conduct honorable
Avoid theft, murder, and dishonorable quest actions throughout the game. The guides connect the parents’ judgment to Henry’s crimes and remorse, but do not establish a numerical crime limit. PC Gamer notes that claims an Indulgence Chest can undo earlier behavior are unconfirmed, so do not rely on one as a guaranteed reset.

Should you save Samuel or take the silver?
After the fight with Brabant, carrying Samuel to a horse preserves his life but slows Henry’s escape and gives Praguer forces time to recover the silver. Leaving Samuel behind makes the escape and reinforcement run faster and preserves the silver, but Samuel is hanged.
| Choice | Result |
|---|---|
| Carry Samuel to a horse | Samuel survives; the silver is recovered by Praguer forces. |
| Leave Samuel behind | Samuel is hanged; Henry’s escape is faster and the silver is preserved. |
Choose the rescue if a more compassionate family outcome matters more to you than keeping the silver.

How to reach the exceptional early ending
During The Lion’s Den, killing enough soldiers in Sigismund’s camp can trigger an early victory screen: “You changed history! Sigismund lost his army and returned to Hungary in disgrace.” PC Gamer attributes this secret route to patch 1.4, but does not give a dependable exact kill count. It is distinct from the regular story’s Suchdol epilogue, and the available guide does not establish a precise threshold.
