You can’t get the Java debug stick in public vanilla Minecraft Bedrock Edition—not through Creative inventory or the built-in /give command, according to the current documented state. A community add-on offers a debug-stick-like tool, but it must be installed and activated first; its command is not a vanilla Bedrock command.
Is the debug stick in Minecraft Bedrock?
The debug stick is a Java Edition item, and Java instructions do not transfer directly to Bedrock. A community reference that documents the item’s Java behavior also reports that it is not available in public vanilla Bedrock. That means /give @s debug_stick does not give you the Java debug stick in an unmodified Bedrock world. It is not a built-in Bedrock item or command. How to use a Bedrock add-on for a debug-stick-like tool
A community add-on ports a similar tool to Bedrock. Its listing instructs players to download a release that matches their Minecraft version, import it, and activate it in the world where they want to use it. - Check compatibility: Open the add-on’s release page and confirm that a release supports your Bedrock version and device.
- Download and import the matching release: Follow the release page’s installation instructions for the file you downloaded.
- Activate the add-on in your world: Enable its packs in that world’s settings as directed by the listing.
- Get the add-on item: The listing gives the custom command
/give @s vyt:debug_stick; it also says the item can be found in Creative inventory. This command works only with the add-on installed and active.
The listing states support for Bedrock 1.20.0 and above. It also specifies older-version experimental requirements: Holiday Creator Features below 1.20.30 and Beta APIs below 1.21.70. These requirements can change as the add-on is updated, so check the release notes for your exact game version before installing. CurseForge add-on listing
Do cheats affect achievements?
In Bedrock single-player, Minecraft says you can enable cheats in the Game tab of the world settings by turning on “Allow Cheats.” The setting has an important cost: enabling cheats permanently prevents achievements in that world, even if you later turn cheats off. In multiplayer, whether you can use commands depends on your permissions and the server or Realm settings. Having the add-on installed does not by itself grant command permission.
What about Microsoft’s Bedrock Debug Tools?
Microsoft Learn documents a separate developer sample called Debug Tools. After adding its packs to a world, the sample provides tools such as a magnifying glass and wrench through commands including /give @s debug_tools:magnifying_glass and /give @s debug_tools:wrench. Which option should you choose?

Choose the add-on route only if you can install packs on your device and are comfortable with its compatibility requirements and the world settings it needs. If you want to keep a world vanilla or preserve its single-player achievement eligibility, there is no supported vanilla command that substitutes for the Java debug stick.
