The Fortnite cosmetic commonly called the “Godzilla boss skin” is the Godzilla Evolved Outfit. During Chapter 6 Season 1, players unlocked it by owning the 鬼 HUNTERS Battle Pass and completing its Godzilla Battle Pass Quests. Those quests ended with the season on February 21, 2025, at 2 AM ET, so that original method is no longer available. Epic’s policy allows some expired Battle Pass rewards to appear in the Item Shop later, but does not promise that this outfit will return.
How players unlocked the Godzilla Evolved Outfit
Epic announced that the quests would begin January 17, 2025. To earn the outfit during Chapter 6 Season 1, players needed to:
- Own the 鬼 HUNTERS Battle Pass.
- Complete the Godzilla Battle Pass Quests. Epic said they could be completed in any Fortnite experience.
- Complete all the quests to unlock the Godzilla Evolved Outfit and its Energized Godzilla Style, along with the associated quest rewards.
The related rewards included Godzilla’s Exo-Spine Back Bling, Crystal Fang Pickaxe, Mothra Glider, and Lil’ Godzilla Attack Emote. Epic also described the outfit’s reactive glow: it began glowing after the wearer’s first elimination in a match and grew brighter with each additional elimination. Epic’s January 16, 2025 announcement gives the original unlock details.
Can you still get it?
No longer through the original quests. The Chapter 6 Season 1 opportunity ended February 21, 2025, at 2 AM ET.

A future Item Shop appearance is possible, but not confirmed. Epic’s August 7, 2024 policy says items from future Battle Passes might be offered in the Shop at least 18 months after the relevant pass expires. Its FAQ explicitly includes quest rewards and licensed or intellectual-property outfits among items that may return, while warning that no individual item is guaranteed to appear. The policy therefore does not establish that Godzilla Evolved is currently available or will return. Check Fortnite’s live Item Shop for current listings. Read Epic’s Battle Pass item exclusivity policy.
The outfit is not the Godzilla boss event
The outfit was an account cosmetic earned through Battle Pass Quests. The separate Battle Royale event featured a portal: when it appeared, the first player to enter became the colossal, player-controlled Godzilla for that match. Only one player could become Godzilla when the portal spawned. Fighting that in-match Godzilla, or earning the event’s Medallion and Burst Quad Launcher, was not a way to unlock the outfit.
