The official Home and Menace cape promotions have ended, so Mojang no longer offers a direct way to earn either cape. Home was the Twitch reward and Menace was the TikTok reward; both were limited-time A Minecraft Movie campaigns.
What the Home and Menace capes were
Each cape was distributed through a different livestream platform, but the campaign schedule, viewing requirement and redemption process were otherwise the same.

How the Home Cape was earned
- During the promotion window, watch an eligible Minecraft livestream on Twitch for three minutes.
- Claim the reward code when the in-game Twitch reward or drop prompt appears.
- Go to minecraft.net/redeem and sign in to the Microsoft account that should receive the cape.
- Enter and submit the code. The entitlement is attached to that Microsoft account and can be used in both Java and Bedrock Edition.
How the Menace Cape was earned
- During the promotion window, watch an eligible Minecraft livestream on TikTok for three minutes.
- Claim the code from the live reward prompt.
- Open minecraft.net/redeem and sign in to the intended Microsoft account.
- Submit the code. The cape is available in both editions when you play on that same account.
Can you still get either cape?
No. The Home and Menace earning windows closed on April 6, 2025. As of October 2, 2026, there has been no announced second run, anniversary reissue or current direct Mojang earning route for either cape.
If you already have an unused code
An unused, valid code can still be redeemed through the official flow. Minecraft Help advises signing in to an existing Microsoft account or creating one, then redeeming the downloadable-content code. Choose the account carefully: the entitlement is account-linked.

If someone is selling a code
Codes offered on marketplaces are secondary-market digital goods, not an official Mojang distribution channel. Availability, validity and revocation policies can vary. Before paying, check the seller’s written failure or refund terms, independent reviews and support responsiveness, and use a payment method with consumer protection. Never provide your Microsoft password to a seller.

Common redemption problems
- Wrong Microsoft account: sign out and verify the account before submitting the code; account-linked entitlements generally cannot be moved to another account.
- Code rejected: check every character, remove accidental spaces and confirm that the seller or promotion supplied a code for Minecraft downloadable content.
- Code already used: only the account that redeemed it can receive the entitlement; contact the original seller or payment provider if you bought it from a marketplace.
- Cape not visible in-game: close and restart the launcher or game, then confirm that Java or Bedrock is signed in with the same Microsoft account used at redemption.
