The Pan Cape is described as a free Minecraft account cosmetic—not an item you need to buy or redeem with a code. If it is available on your account, look for it in Bedrock’s character customization or Java’s profile cape selection. The reported rollout dates differ by edition.
Where to find the Pan Cape
Minecraft Bedrock Edition
Open the Dressing Room or Character Creator and look in the cape customization options. The Pan Cape is reported to have been distributed to Bedrock players starting around 2020. Minecraft Wiki’s cape history and MCProfiles’ Pan Cape guide describe it as free and available through character customization.
Minecraft: Java Edition
Open your player profile’s cape selection and check whether the Pan Cape is listed. The Minecraft Wiki reports that distribution to Java players began on May 8, 2025; this is a community-maintained secondary reference, not a dated statement from Mojang. Minecraft Wiki’s cape history covers the reported rollout.
What to check if it is missing
- Confirm that you are signed into the Microsoft account you use to play Minecraft.
- Check the customization area for the edition you are playing: Bedrock’s Dressing Room or Character Creator, or Java’s profile cape selection.
- Refresh or reopen that screen and check again. Labels and behavior can vary by platform and game version.
The available references do not establish a universal fix, guaranteed sync time, or support outcome for a missing Pan Cape. They also do not confirm entitlement behavior for every account, platform, or future date.

Do not confuse it with the Common Cape
The Common Cape is a different cosmetic. Minecraft’s official announcement and promotion terms describe a separate Microsoft-account sign-in offer that ran from May 6, 2025, to May 5, 2026, subject to terms and supply limits. Those dates and claim steps do not apply to the Pan Cape.
