The easiest source-reported way to get the Shaman Riptide Rune in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery is to buy it from a Rune Broker for one copper. Blizzard’s Phase 7 announcement says all runes and rune-related discovery items can be purchased for that price. If the broker does not offer it on your character or client, you can still earn it through the original Wild Gods questline: collect three Wild Offerings and return them to Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood.
Fastest route: buy it from a Rune Broker
- Find a Rune Broker in a major city and check the available rune or discovery-item purchases.
- Buy the Riptide Rune for one copper, as described in Blizzard’s Phase 7 announcement.
- Use the item to learn the rune, then engrave it in the Shaman bracer slot.
This is the lowest-effort option and avoids the dungeon chain. The one-copper availability is source-reported; if Riptide is missing from your broker, check your character’s available listings and use the Wild Gods route below.
Original route: complete The Wild Gods
The questline begins with Shadowtooth Emissary in Emerald Sanctuary, Felwood. Wowhead lists the NPC at /way 51.5, 82. The quest is not shareable, so every character taking this route must pick it up themselves. The Wowhead Riptide Rune guide details the quest and dungeon steps.
1. Pick up The Wild Gods
Speak to Shadowtooth Emissary and accept The Wild Gods before beginning the collection steps.

2. Obtain Wildwhisper Draught in Jintha’Alor
Travel to Jintha’Alor in the Hinterlands and kill elite trolls until you obtain Wildwhisper Draught. Only one person in a group needs the draught for the next summon step.
3. Summon and speak with the Spirit of Agamaggan
In Razorfen Downs, clear the area around Amnennar the Coldbringer. Drink Wildwhisper Draught to summon the Spirit of Agamaggan and speak with him. This advances The Wild Gods and grants Agamaggan’s Roar, which is needed to make the dungeon target hostile.

4. Earn three Wild Offerings
Each Wild Offering comes from defeating a level 52 elite Delirious Ancient. First trigger the appropriate ghostly creature in one of the dungeons below, then use Agamaggan’s Roar near it to make the Ancient hostile and defeat it.

You need three offerings, but you do not have to visit all three dungeons. Wowhead reports that repeating the same dungeon is valid; the Delirious Ancient can be killed once per dungeon lockout.
5. Turn in the offerings
Return to Shadowtooth Emissary with all three Wild Offerings to receive Rune of Riptide.
Getting Riptide on an alternate character
If one character has already discovered a qualifying rune through The Wild Gods, Warcraft Tavern reports an alternate-character option: Pix Xizzix in Booty Bay sells Emblem of the Wild Gods for five Tarnished Undermine Real. Take the emblem to a Rune Broker to redeem the corresponding class rune on an alt. The redemption option is described for brokers in Stormwind, Ironforge, Orgrimmar, and Thunder Bluff; confirm the available exchange with a nearby broker in-game. What the Riptide Rune is
Riptide is a Shaman rune for the bracer slot. Using the Rune of Riptide teaches the bracer engraving, as described by the Warcraft Wiki entry. Season of Discovery runes add abilities and engraving options to WoW Classic; Blizzard describes their role in its Season of Discovery launch announcement. The acquisition sources cited here do not establish current healing values or how Riptide compares in performance with other Shaman runes.
