Equip it to reach the upper Mouth route, which leads through the Throat to the Stomach and the second Parasite Cage encounter. Monstro’s rooms loop back on themselves, so use the exit directions—not room numbers alone—to stay on course.
Monstro chamber route to the first Parasite Cage
This route follows the Monstro chapter in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. The repeated room visits are intentional. Optional chests, Dalmatians, and Trinity Marks can be skipped if you only want to progress. The route is drawn from the GameFAQs contributor walkthrough.

- Mouth → Chamber 1: After Monstro swallows the Gummi Ship, explore the Mouth and speak with Geppetto aboard his ship at the rear. Follow Pinocchio into Chamber 1.
- Chamber 1 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 1: After the scene with Riku, defeat the Heartless and take the lower exit to Chamber 3. Clear the room, then return to Chamber 1.
- Chamber 1 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 2: In Chamber 1, take the raised opening to Chamber 2. Clear the enemies and continue into Chamber 3. If you want the optional Dalmatians chest, use a barrel as a step to reach the raised ledge. Return to Chamber 2 through the right-hand opening.
- Chamber 2 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6: Cross the elevated Chamber 2 area and enter Chamber 5, then continue to Chamber 6. The walkthrough sends you back to Chamber 5 for optional treasure before returning through Chamber 6.
- Chamber 6 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 1 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 2: Follow the exits through this sequence of rooms. Check the exit direction at each return; a chamber number by itself does not tell you which way to go.
- Chamber 2 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 4: Continue through Chambers 5 and 6, then re-enter Chamber 5 near the upper step. Use the barrel and ledge route to reach Chamber 4.
- Chamber 4 → Bowels: After the scene and save opportunity, enter the Bowels to fight Parasite Cage.
How to beat the first Parasite Cage
The GameFAQs walkthrough lists 450 HP for the first Parasite Cage encounter; the chapter page does not state a publication year for that figure. It describes two approaches, rather than requiring one particular setup.
Ranged magic
Use Fira and/or Gravity from range, and bring Ethers to restore MP. The guide presents this as the safer option if you would rather avoid staying close to the tentacles.

Jumping melee attacks
You can also jump in to attack at close range, moving carefully around the tentacles. Choose this if you are comfortable managing your position while the boss attacks.
Where to get High Jump
After defeating Parasite Cage, drop through the hole into the Mouth. Open the chest near Geppetto’s ship to obtain High Jump, then equip the shared ability. The Prima Games guide also identifies High Jump as the progression ability for the next route.

How to reach the second Parasite Cage fight
- From the Mouth, take the elevated route above the Chamber 1 entrance.
- Continue through the Throat and climb upward into the Stomach.
- Fight Parasite Cage again.

Second Parasite Cage: hazards and attack windows
The GameFAQs walkthrough lists 900 HP for the rematch—twice the 450 HP it lists for the first encounter. It also describes poison gas and green floor acid that drains HP. Keep Aero and Cure available, and watch for the boss to open its mouth: the dark orb inside is an attack opportunity, and the walkthrough says hits on it deal double damage. Gamer Guides likewise points to the exposed orb as a damage window and recommends Aero.

Navigation and combat tips
- Clear enemies before tricky jumps. Enemies can knock Sora from platforms. Prima Games specifically recommends clearing them first to make difficult jumps less frustrating.
- Watch for Barrel Spiders. They disguise themselves as ordinary barrels, then rush at Sora and can explode. The GameFAQs guide recommends casting Thunder at a group to reveal the Barrel Spiders while leaving regular barrels intact; treat this as one suggested tactic, not a requirement.
- Track the exit as well as the room. Monstro’s route revisits chambers, sometimes for optional treasure. Confirm whether you need a lower, raised, right-hand, or upper opening before moving on.
