You can gift an eligible Fortnite skin or bundle from the in-game Item Shop, provided you have two-factor authentication enabled, are at least level 2, and have been friends with the recipient for at least two days. The item must be available in the shop and eligible for gifting. Gifts are non-refundable, and Fortnite does not let you send V-Bucks directly to another player.
What you need before gifting
- Two-factor authentication (2FA): Enable it on your Epic Games account before trying to send a gift. Epic’s support page links to its 2FA setup instructions.
- Account level: The sender must be level 2 or higher.
- Friendship duration: The recipient must have been on your Epic Friends list for at least two days.
- Recipient eligibility: Epic lists a negative V-Bucks balance as a reason an account cannot receive a gift.
- Sending limit: Epic documents a limit of five gifts per 24 hours. Each 24-hour period resets based on when you sent the gifts.
Epic lists gifting as supported on Android, PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Its support page does not show a publication or revision date, so check the current requirements there if something does not match what you see in-game: How does Gifting work in Fortnite?
How to gift a Fortnite skin or bundle
- Open Fortnite and go to the in-game Item Shop. The offer has to be available there. Epic says gifting is done in the game, not through the Web Item Shop.
- Select the skin or bundle. Check that the offer has a gift option; not every shop item can be sent to another player.
- Choose GIFT. Select or search for your friend using their Epic Games display name. Epic recommends the display name to help avoid choosing the wrong person.
- Review the gifting window. Confirm the recipient and the price shown for that recipient. Bundle prices can differ according to what the recipient already owns.
- Confirm the purchase only when everything is correct. Epic says all gifts are non-refundable.

Why an item or bundle may not be giftable
Fortnite only allows eligible offers currently featured in the in-game Item Shop. Epic lists these exclusions and limitations:

- Dynamically priced bundles when the recipient already owns one or more items in the bundle that cannot be gifted
A bundle’s displayed price can be affected by items the recipient already owns. Check the price in the gifting window rather than assuming it will match the price shown for your own account. Epic explains bundle pricing in Why is the price of a bundle different for me?

No. Epic does not support sending V-Bucks directly through Fortnite’s gifting feature. Its documented option is to buy a physical V-Bucks card from a participating retailer and give it to the recipient to redeem on their Epic account. A Fortnite Gift Card may be another stored-value option, depending on region and redemption terms. Epic says redeemed card funds can be spent on the Epic Games Store or Fortnite on mobile or PC for eligible purchases. V-Bucks purchased with Epic account balance are available on connected platforms except Nintendo, which does not support Fortnite Shared Wallet; Epic also says items bought with those V-Bucks appear in the Locker across connected platforms.
