A useful watchlist instead weighs the stakes of a rivalry, the match format, the contrast between opponents, career milestones and whether a bout belongs to a larger team story. Those criteria point to several well-documented AEW examples, while leaving room for personal favorites.
What makes a PAC match memorable?
Start with the reason a match stands out, rather than treating “best” as a measurable fact. A bout can be compelling because it settles a series, uses an unusual format, pits sharply different styles against each other or marks a championship milestone. A multi-match team rivalry can also matter as an arc, even when no single bout tells the whole story.
- Storyline stakes: Did the match decide a rivalry or a series?
- Format and finish: Was there a clearly defined stipulation or a documented deciding result?
- Opponent dynamic: Did the wrestlers’ contrasting approaches shape the match?
- Career significance: Did PAC win a first or inaugural championship?
- Rivalry arc: Was the match part of a connected team series?
These are ways to build a defensible shortlist, not proof that every fan will rank the matches alike. A specialist retrospective’s ten-match selection is that publication’s editorial choice, not a consensus ranking. A fan-style prompt such as “What Is Everybody’s Favorite PAC Match?” likewise signals reader interest, not polling results.
Which PAC matches are strong starting points?
PAC vs. Kenny Omega: AEW Dynamite, February 26, 2020
This is a particularly clear example of format and storyline reinforcing each other. AEW’s report describes the 30-minute Iron Man match as the deciding bout in a three-match series. With the wrestlers tied 1–1 late, the match went to sudden-death overtime; Omega won 2–1. The series context, timed format and decisive finish give viewers concrete reasons to include it in a shortlist without needing to call it objectively the greatest.

PAC vs. Orange Cassidy: AEW Revolution, February 29, 2020
AEW’s event report records PAC defeating Cassidy by submission. The pairing’s appeal lies in the contrast the report emphasizes: PAC’s punishing intensity against Cassidy’s deliberately relaxed presentation and distinctive offense. That difference offers a useful test for a memorable match: sometimes the opponent’s style is as important as the rivalry stakes.
How should PAC’s championship milestone be described?
At Forbidden Door on June 26, 2022, PAC won a four-way tournament final to become the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion. AEW’s title history documents the milestone. Use “All-Atlantic Championship” when describing the 2022 event: AEW later renamed the championship the International Championship. That distinction preserves the name in use at the time without obscuring the title’s current identity.

Why include a team rivalry in a list of memorable matches?
PAC’s standout moments are not limited to singles bouts. Death Triangle—PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix—defended its trios titles against The Elite in a best-of-seven series that ran from November 2022 into January 2023. AEW’s September 2026 retrospective identifies the series as a significant storyline. Because the rivalry spans multiple title matches, it is best treated as an arc when building a watchlist, rather than reduced to an unsupported claim about one definitive bout.
AEW’s retrospective also describes PAC’s 2019 signing as part of the original roster and his early rivalries with “Hangman” Adam Page and Omega, saying the Omega rivalry concluded with one of the biggest matches in Dynamite history. That characterization belongs to AEW’s retrospective; it is not an independently established ranking or a quote attributed there to a named speaker.

How can you make a broader career watchlist?
Use the same criteria across promotions, but verify the match record before adding dates, results or stipulations. In WWE-era references, PAC wrestled as Adrian Neville; earlier material may spell his name “Pac.” The available documented examples here support an AEW-centered shortlist, not a definitive cross-promotion ranking. Without reliable records for specific non-AEW bouts, it is more accurate to identify the name change and verify individual candidates than to present uncertain matches as career highlights.
