Riot Games says it is Radiance’s second Ultimate Rare, significantly harder to find than Unleashed Baron, and the rarest Ultimate Rare yet. Riot’s published average is approximately 0.025% of Radiance booster packs across the entire print run—roughly one pack in 4,000 on average, not a promise for any individual pack, display, or case.
Radiance also has two confirmed music crossovers: K/DA appears on Special cards, while Heartsteel appears on Overnumbers. The set is scheduled for October 23, 2026, in English, French, and Chinese. This guide explains how to distinguish those treatments, read the pack slots, and choose between sealed product and a specific single.

What Radiance is and when it releases
Riftbound: Radiance is set 5 of Riot Games’ trading-card game. Riot’s set announcement lists 167 cards, including 61 Showcase cards, alongside booster packs and displays, Seraphine versus Evelynn Showdown Decks, a Vault Bundle, and Pre-Rift kits. The planned release date is October 23, 2026, with English, French, and Chinese editions.
Because the release is scheduled rather than completed as of October 17, 2026, card images, gallery entries, and store inventory can still change. Use the current official card gallery to confirm a card’s name and image when you are sorting cards, trading, or buying a single.

Radiance rarity treatments at a glance
Radiance does not have just one “rare card” category. Riot’s official overview calls out several treatments that collectors may encounter in the higher-rarity slot.
| Treatment | What Riot confirms | How to identify it responsibly |
|---|---|---|
| Ultimate Rare | Radiance’s second Ultimate Rare; significantly harder to find than Unleashed Baron and described as the rarest Ultimate Rare yet. | Confirm the exact card name and current artwork in Riot’s official Radiance gallery. The overview excerpt does not name the card. |
| Overnumber | The set’s nine new Legends have Overnumbered variants. | Match the card’s printed treatment and collector information to the official gallery. Do not assume every Overnumber is signed. |
| Signed Overnumber | An Overnumbered variant may also be found with an artist signature. | Look for the signature treatment and verify the corresponding gallery entry; a signature is an additional treatment, not a separate music crossover category. |
| Special card | K/DA is represented by Special cards. | Verify the Special designation and artwork against the official gallery rather than inferring it from the character or group alone. |
| Special Alt Art | Riot says Special Alt Art cards appear at roughly the same frequency as Alt Art cards. | Check the gallery’s treatment label and artwork. “Special” and “Alt Art” should not be treated as interchangeable names. |
| Alt Art | Alt Art is one of the possible outcomes in the higher-rarity pack slot. | Compare the card image and treatment with the official listing. |
These labels describe different kinds of collectibility. A music crossover does not automatically mean Ultimate Rare, and an Ultimate Rare is not automatically a K/DA or Heartsteel card. Identify the treatment first, then check the specific card entry.
What is the rarest card in Riftbound: Radiance?
The answer supported by Riot’s overview is the Radiance Ultimate Rare. Riot calls it Radiance’s second Ultimate Rare, says it is significantly harder to find than Unleashed Baron, and describes it as the rarest Ultimate Rare yet. The published overview excerpt does not provide the card’s individual name, so do not attach an unverified name to the rarity.

The official average pull rate
Riot reports that approximately 0.025% of Radiance booster packs, averaged across the entire Radiance print run, contain an Ultimate Rare. Converting that percentage gives a rough average of one Ultimate Rare per 4,000 packs (0.025% equals 0.00025, or 1/4,000).

That conversion is only a way to make the percentage easier to understand. It is not a guaranteed one-in-4,000 distribution, and it is not a stated probability for a particular box, display, case, language edition, or production batch. Riot expressly says pack contents are randomized and that the averages are not guarantees.
Why the number cannot tell you your display’s odds
The 0.025% figure is a print-run average. It does not establish that each display has identical composition, that packs are independent events, or that opening a certain number of packs changes the next pack’s chance. A display can contain no Ultimate Rare without contradicting the published average, just as a small opening can produce an unusually valuable hit.
Do not turn the percentage into a promised box rate, a case rate, or a claim that a sealed display is “due” to contain an Ultimate Rare. Riot has not published a guaranteed allocation for those products in the overview.
How to identify a Radiance card step by step
Use a treatment-first process. It prevents the most common errors: calling any shiny card an Ultimate Rare, confusing an alternate-art version with a Special card, or assigning a music crossover based only on a character’s identity.
- Separate the card by set. Check the printed set identifier, collector number, and other set information on the card. Keep Radiance cards separate from earlier Riftbound sets before comparing rarity.
- Read the card’s printed treatment. Look for the card’s rarity and variant presentation rather than judging only by foil shine. Radiance’s relevant categories include Rare, Epic, Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, and Ultimate Rare.
- Compare the artwork with the official gallery. Search the current Riot Radiance card gallery for the exact card name, image, and variant. This is especially important for cards whose regular and alternate-art versions share a character or title.
- Check for an Overnumber variant. Nine new Legends have Overnumbered variants. Confirm that the printed card matches the gallery’s Overnumber entry; do not infer the treatment from a seller’s title or from a serial-looking detail.
- Check for an artist signature. Riot says an Overnumber may also be found with an artist signature. Treat the signature as a signed version of the Overnumber treatment and verify it against the official image.
- Check whether it is a confirmed music crossover. K/DA is identified as Special cards. Heartsteel is identified as Overnumbers. Do not label another Riot music act as a Radiance crossover unless Riot adds it to the official set information.
- Confirm the final name and language. Radiance is planned in English, French, and Chinese. Card names and text can differ by language, so use the gallery for the edition you are holding.
What visual evidence is not enough by itself
- A reflective surface does not prove a card is an Ultimate Rare; the pack’s foil slot can contain several rarity levels.
- A different illustration does not prove a card is a Special Alt Art; Alt Art and Special Alt Art are separate treatments in Riot’s list.
- A K/DA character does not tell you the card’s exact rarity. Riot confirms K/DA as a Special-card crossover, but individual cards still need gallery verification.
- A Heartsteel character does not mean the card is an Ultimate Rare. Riot identifies Heartsteel in the Overnumber category.
- A seller’s description is not a substitute for the official card image, collector information, and treatment label.
How Radiance packs are structured
Riot’s detailed Radiance overview lists the following pack slots. The list is more useful for identifying where a chase treatment can appear than the simplified product summary on the store page.

| Slot or component | Possible contents stated by Riot | Identification consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Common slots | Seven Commons | Regular Commons are not part of the higher-rarity chase slot. |
| Uncommon slots | Three Uncommons | Regular Uncommons are separate from the foil and variant possibilities. |
| Foil slot | Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic | A foil finish alone does not establish that the card is an Alt Art, Special, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare. |
| Rare-or-Epic slot | Rare or Epic | This slot is distinct from the broader variant slot. |
| Variant slot | Rare, Epic, Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare | This is the slot that can contain the named high-end treatments, including the Ultimate Rare. |
| Token/Rune slot | Token, Rune, or Alt Art Rune | Do not count a Rune or token as evidence of a card rarity tier. |
| Informational insert | Insert card | Keep the insert separate from collectible card treatments. |
The Riot Games Store describes the product more simply as a 14-card booster pack containing seven Commons, three Uncommons, two foil Rares or better, one foil of any rarity, and one token slot. The detailed overview is the better reference when you need to understand the chase slot and its possible treatments; the store copy is a concise product description.

One Ultimate Rare maximum per pack
Riot states that a pack can contain at most one Ultimate Rare. That limit does not mean every pack has one variant card, nor does it create a guaranteed minimum across a display or case. It only defines the maximum number of Ultimate Rares in an individual pack.
Does Radiance have K/DA cards?
Yes. Riot’s official overview identifies K/DA Special cards as one of Radiance’s music-themed treatments. Riot describes the set as music-themed and says, “We couldn’t have a music themed set without featuring the K/DA girls.” The sentence appears in Riot’s Radiance overview, published September 25, 2026.
K/DA is therefore a confirmed Special-card crossover, not merely a fan theory or a character-based assumption. To identify a particular K/DA card, match its artwork and treatment to the official gallery. The overview does not provide a complete card-by-card list in the cited passage, so avoid inventing names or counts.
Are Heartsteel cards in Radiance?
Yes. Riot identifies Heartsteel Overnumbers in the same official overview. This is a different treatment from the K/DA Special cards: Heartsteel is associated with Overnumbers, while K/DA is associated with Special cards.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Riot also says the nine new Legends in Radiance have Overnumbered variants and that those variants can be found with an artist signature. That means a Heartsteel Overnumber and a signed Overnumber are related through the Overnumber treatment, but they are not synonyms. Confirm the exact card and whether it carries a signature by comparing it with the official gallery.
What is not confirmed by the overview
The official information used here confirms K/DA and Heartsteel only. It does not establish additional Riot music acts as Radiance crossovers. Do not expand the crossover list from social-media speculation, custom cards, or unverified marketplace listings.
Sealed boosters, displays, and singles: which route fits your goal?
Choose the product format based on whether you value the opening experience or certainty about the card you want. The official sources establish Radiance booster products, but they do not verify a marketplace inventory of individual singles.
| Buying route | What it gives you | Main trade-off | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual single | Directly targets a named card and treatment. | You must verify authenticity, edition, language, condition, and variant details with the seller and official gallery. | A collector who wants one specific Ultimate Rare, K/DA Special, Heartsteel Overnumber, or signed variant. |
| Booster pack | A randomized opening with a chance at the variant slot’s possible treatments. | No particular card or Ultimate Rare is guaranteed. | Collectors who enjoy opening packs or want broad set coverage. |
| Booster display | Riot’s store listing describes 24 packs in a display. | Twenty-four randomized packs still do not guarantee an Ultimate Rare or a named crossover card. | Opening multiple packs at once while accepting variance. |
The Riot Games Store listing for the Radiance Booster Display is marked “Out of Stock” in the cited listing. Stock can change, so check the live listing before treating that status as current. The listing’s 24-pack format is a product specification, not a pull-rate promise.
A practical sorting and verification workflow
When opening packs
- Keep cards from the same pack together until you have recorded the set and language.
- Remove the token, Rune, and informational insert from the cards you are evaluating for rarity.
- Separate the ordinary Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic cards from cards that appear to be Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare.
- Photograph or scan the front of any suspected variant before handling it repeatedly. This preserves the initial condition record.
- Use the official gallery to confirm the name, artwork, treatment, and edition before storing or trading the card.
- For an apparent signature, compare the placement and artwork with the signed Overnumber entry rather than relying on a seller’s claim that a mark is an artist signature.
When buying a single
- Ask for clear images of the front and back, including the collector information and any treatment details.
- Confirm that the listing says the exact variant—such as Overnumber, signed Overnumber, Special, Special Alt, or Ultimate Rare—not merely “foil” or “rare.”
- Match the listing image to the official gallery for the correct language edition.
- Be cautious when a listing uses a card name that the current official gallery does not show. The Radiance overview does not name the Ultimate Rare in the cited text.
- Keep purchase records and photographs for high-value cards so that condition or variant disputes can be documented.
Common identification mistakes and fixes
Mistake: treating every foil as a chase card
Fix: Radiance has a foil slot that can be Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic, plus a separate slot that can contain Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare. Confirm the treatment and gallery entry before assigning a high rarity.

Mistake: calling an Alt Art card a Special card
Fix: Riot lists Alt Art and Special Alt separately and identifies K/DA specifically with Special cards. Compare the exact artwork and treatment label rather than using “alternate art” as a catch-all.
Mistake: assuming a signed card is a separate base rarity
Fix: Riot describes Overnumbers that may also be found with an artist signature. Record both parts of the description: the card is an Overnumber, and the signature is an additional signed treatment.
Mistake: using the 0.025% figure as box odds
Fix: The figure is an approximate average across the entire print run of booster packs. Riot does not turn it into a display or case guarantee. Describe it as a print-run average every time you quote it.

Release, language, and availability checks
Before publishing a checklist, buying a case, or trading a suspected chase card, verify four time-sensitive details:
- Release status: Radiance is scheduled for October 23, 2026. A pre-release listing is not proof that packs are already circulating through official distribution.
- Language: Riot lists English, French, and Chinese releases. Match the gallery and card name to the language edition in hand.
- Gallery data: Confirm the current image and name, particularly for the Ultimate Rare whose name is not given in the overview excerpt.
- Store stock: The cited Riot Games Store display listing says “Out of Stock,” but inventory is changeable and should be checked again before relying on it.
How to describe a Radiance card accurately
A useful trade or collection description includes the set, card name, treatment, language, and condition. For example, describe a card as “Radiance [card name], Overnumber, French edition, near-mint condition” only after matching those details to the official gallery. If the card has an artist signature, state that separately as “signed Overnumber.” If it is a K/DA card, identify the Special treatment rather than calling it an Ultimate Rare unless the gallery explicitly does so.
For an unopened product, state the format—booster pack or 24-pack Booster Display—and avoid promising a pull. A precise description protects both parties from the most common misunderstanding in Radiance collecting: confusing a product’s possible contents with a guaranteed allocation.
Bottom line for collectors
Start with the treatment, not the shine or the character. Radiance’s rarest tier is the Ultimate Rare, with Riot’s approximate 0.025% print-run average and no pack, display, or case guarantee. K/DA is confirmed through Special cards; Heartsteel is confirmed through Overnumbers, including the possibility of signed Overnumber variants among Radiance’s nine new Legends. Use the official gallery to settle the exact card name and image, and treat the October 23, 2026 release date and store stock as details that can change.
